There is no shortage of picturesque log cabins in the Appalachian Mountains.
However, this one, dubbed “The Tree House,” is a little different. It sits up on stilts overlooking a lake in the Georgia wilderness. From the outside, it looks like a regular log cabin … on legs. So, what is it like on the inside?
The cabin is a piece from Appalachian Log Homes. It is a striking sight both from far and near. Its unique construction is already apparent from the elaborate branches in the front entryway. Just walking in, you feel like you are leaving the rest of the world far behind.
To enter the cabin, visitors make their way high into the trees.

A beautiful deck overlooks the tranquil lake, perfect for a cup of coffee or an intimate meal.
The inside of the cabin is stunning. A huge wooden bed and an old-time clawfoot tub provide an outdoors feeling with a new twist.
There is also a gorgeous stone fireplace perfect for heating the entire cabin just like they did in the olden days.
A small dining area makes for a cozy place to share a meal for two. Just because you are in the middle of the Georgia forest doesn’t mean you can’t dine in style!
The bathroom offers a more rustic feel, complete with a small corner sink.
If the more glamorous parts of the cabin make you forget, there is a helpful mural of trees to remind you of your rural setting.
The Tree House isn’t the only luxury log cabin you can find.
Luxury log cabins can be found all over the world these days. They are not just for the pioneers anymore. These modern homes may look rustic, but they are equipped with everything you need for 21st-century life.
If you’d prefer, you can dine with elephants in South Africa.
Just look at these luxury log cabins from around the world. Of course, they’re all different. This cabin in South Africa is also on stilts, but it’s not exactly suited to the Georgia forest. The Lion Sands Game Reserve Treehouse was built on what was once a platform for photographers on a game reserve. This means that the cabin has all the luxuries of a modern home …. with some animal life just below. This cabin may only be for the adventurous!

Or you can head to England to camp with some fairy tale characters.
Treehouses are getting more and more popular for log cabin getaways. This one is in Surrey, England. It looks like it came straight out of a fairy tale. You might even encounter a small person with furry feet sitting by the fire. This gorgeous little cabin might look like it comes from a time long ago, but it is fully outfitted with everything campers need, from a kitchen area to a king-sized bed.
No one said log cabins have to be primitive!
Then there is Timber Moose, one of the largest log cabins around. This luxury Utah property defies the idea that cabins need to be small. In fact, it is the largest log cabin in the United States. Renters can stay there and enjoy all the luxury amenities with 60 of their friends. You won’t find a sauna or a swimming pool at most log cabins, but Timber Moose has both. There is even a banquet hall. Of course, you’ll need to shell out about $4,000 a night.

Staff was incredibly accommodating and helpful.”
It seems a bit different from most camping experiences.
No one even said cabins had to be on dry land!
Maybe you are more of a beach person. If that’s the case, you can even find a floating log cabin in Tanzania. It’s called the Manta Resort, and it even has a bedroom that is completely underwater. If visitors are feeling adventurous, they can kick back on a bed and watch the ocean move around them. Of course, if you’re afraid of sharks, you may want to stay on dry land.
Whether you are dining high above the South African grassland or snuggling up next to a fire in the Appalachian forest, these luxury log cabins are anything but primitive. That being said, if you’re interested, you may want to start saving. Underwater resorts don’t come cheap!
