Dry lips are one of my biggest beauty concerns. I go through chapsticks and lip balms very quickly, and given the size of these things, it’s often easy to misplace and lose them. As a result, I spend quite a bit on these products every year..

Fortunately, there’s a way to cut costs and save money. Just make lip balm yourself at home. It’s really easy to do, and the best part is that you can customize it to your preferences.

These DIY Tinted Lip Balms use an old EOS container to make your own version of the popular product that you can customize to any color you want! Try out this fun beauty project that will help you keep your lips hydrated and tinted no matter how cold it gets!

Materials needed:

  • 1 tsp beeswax
  • 1/4 tsp coconut oil
  • 1/4 tsp shea butter
  • 1/4 tsp jojoba oil
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Piece of lipstick for color (optional)
  • Empty EOS container

Directions:

  1. Place a heat-safe bowl over a sauce pan with a bit of water in it (double-boiler) at a medium heat.
  2. Then begin adding the beeswax, coconut oil, shea butter, jojoba oil and olive oil into the bowl.
  3. As it begins to melt into a creamy paste, add a little piece of lipstick to the mixture and stir it in.
  4. Close the container with and let it sit for five minutes at room temperature and then freeze for ten minutes.
  5. Pop the hardened balm out of the top of the lid gently. Use a lighter to heat the wax up just a little bit so you will be able to secure it into the base.
  6. Now that it is secure, you are all set to hydrate those lips!
