A lot of people are choosing tiny homes over huge houses in the big city. The trend doesn’t come as a surprise. Tiny homes are easier to maintain and they cost less.
Liza, a single mother of two girls, was on the search for an affordable cottage.
She wanted it to be a place where she and her daughters can retire. It’s like a short-term retreat for her small family.
She had a couple of things she wanted for her tiny home.
First, she wanted it to be close to town. She also needed it to be moveable so they can take it wherever they wanted.
Because she wanted it to be perfect, she reached out to a Canadian company that specializes in building tiny homes.
Soon after, the project was started. Liza got the tiny home she’d always wanted. She nicknamed it The Magnolia, inspired by her mom’s favorite tree.
The tiny home is 30 feet long.
It has access to a 50 amp power source. It also has WiFi, propane, and sewage.
The exterior was beautifully done.
It features a combination of white shiplap along with cedar siding. The diagonal pattern made it so unique.

The Magnolia’s interior is a mix of neutral tones and warm wooden elements.
There were gold-painted metal fixtures that look really well against Liza’s favorite color- teal. Every part of the cottage is a treat to the eyes.

It was designed with convenience in mind as well. It has a lot of storage space, an enormous farmhouse sink, and a long wooden counter.
Some parts of the stairs that lead to the sleeping loft are designed with hollow spaces. There, Liza placed a couple of storage baskets. They also have a combination washer-dryer which is cleverly hidden under the stairs.
The Magnolia features tons of storage space!
When you’re living in a tiny home, having lots of storage space is critical. They enable you to hide your essential items neatly and properly.
In the cottage, you’ll find a built-in sofa. It’s over six feet long and underneath, you’ll find storage drawers. One of its armrests doubles as a six-bottle wine rack. The tiny home also has a broom closet where Liza stores her cordless vacuum cleaner. It even has a power outlet.
For a tiny home, it has a lot of room and can sleep up to nine people!
In the children’s room, there’s a double bunk bed. The Magnolia also has king and queen-sized lofts. In the living room, you’d find a beautiful day bed.
Liza specifically requested to have a large bed.
And the company was creative enough to make a room that’s big enough for her request. They made a generous master bedroom for Liza that’s spacious, bright, and light. The white color scheme works really well in making the room look bigger than it actually is.
