Have you ever envisioned yourself floating on a calm lake in a cute little houseboat, handcrafted just for you?
Richard from Dingyou created a gem called the Koroc V, and let me tell you, it’s got everything.
This floating beauty comes with a huge deck, comfy seating, and even a hammock that hangs right over the water.
Sounds dreamy, right?
It’s the upgraded version of his first build, blending sleek design with smart off-grid systems to give you the perfect floating getaway.
So, who’s the genius behind this amazing houseboat?
Meet Richard from Dingyou.
He’s a whiz at building these stunning and functional living spaces.
The Koroc V is his latest creation, and it’s clear that Richard pours his heart into every detail.
From the handcrafted woodwork to the clever design elements, this boat is all about comfort and enjoyment.
Let’s talk construction. The Koroc V shows off Richard’s expertise and eye for detail.
It’s built on an aluminum frame with a plywood base, all wrapped in a waterproof membrane.
The main material? White cedar—lightweight and super durable, just what you need for boat building.
The boat floats on three 25-inch diameter aluminum pontoons, measures 28 feet long and 8.5 feet wide, and weighs in at 6,000 pounds.
And for those smooth, breezy rides, it’s powered by a 140-horsepower engine.
Now, onto the design. Practical meets luxury in the Koroc V.
The front deck is extra-large with comfy seating, a folding hammock, and a bimini for shade—perfect for lounging and soaking up the view.
Can you imagine relaxing in a hammock suspended over the water?
Inside, the boat is all about maximizing comfort and functionality.
Step through the front patio doors, and you’ll find a cozy kitchen and dining area.
The kitchen has a small sink, a two-burner propane cooktop, a mini bar fridge, and plenty of storage.
The dinette folds down to create more space, and all the edges are rounded—no bumps or bruises here! It’s a design that’s both practical and safe.
The bathroom might be compact, but it’s fully equipped.
There’s a Nature’s Head composting toilet, no need for a black water tank.
There’s also a shower with a drain in the floor and a small sink.
Two roof vents and a small window keep the space fresh and comfy.
The gray water goes through a charcoal filter before hitting the lake, and future models will have a holding tank.
The cabin area is versatile, with a dining space that converts into a queen-size bed, and storage under the benches.
It’s perfect for eating, sleeping, and making the most of the space.
A door at the back of the cabin leads to the rear deck and motor, providing great cross-ventilation and easy access to the engine.
Living off-grid? No problem!
The houseboat has a 300-watt solar panel and two 6-volt AGM batteries to power the fridge, LED lights, faucet pump, and navigation station.
There’s also a 30-amp shore power option.
And for those chilly days, a small Martin propane heater keeps things warm and cozy.
One of the coolest features? That hammock over the water.
Richard handcrafted the hammock arms and roof rafters with laminated strips of white cedar, bent around a mold.
The craftsmanship is just incredible. Spend a day on the water with Richard and his business partner, Özgen, and you’ll see the beauty and practicality of this floating home.
The Koroc V isn’t just a boat; it’s a testament to Richard’s skill and dedication, offering a beautiful and cozy living space right on the water.
