Trees have different shapes. Some of them develop a weird shape due to poor soil. Their growth may be stunted because they’re not getting enough nutrients. This commonly happens to trees growing right next to another object.
The area where a tree grows can also affect its shape. For example, trees that grow near the equator tend to have a flat crown because their leaves are exposed to overhead light.
On the other hand, trees in the Arctic circle tend to have needles. They occur because of their need to adapt to cold and dry climates.
Some trees don’t have any clear explanation for their appearance. They just appear weird. And the most bizarre thing about them? If you take a close look at the following trees, you’ll find them looking quite similar to other things.
If you’re finding that hard to believe, go ahead and see for yourself.
1. The devil tree
This is the devil tree and there’s no doubt about that. Its hands, horns, and the way it’s looking are enough to send me running away.
2. Ent
Anyone who have read J. R. R. Tolkien’s book would find this one familiar. The tree looks like one of the ents, right?
3. Like lightning
This tree was probably traumatized by a storm when it was little. It suddenly turned itself into a lightning-like tree.
4. What it feels being downtown
The tree doesn’t look too happy about being downtown. The wires on its branches are probably making it feel worse.
5. A ninja tree
I know trees can’t watch movies. However, the way they are able to recreate movie characters is just impressive. This one looks like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Tree.
6. The thinking tree
Old trees symbolize wisdom. This is probably one of the wisest of them all.
7. The Grinch
If The Grinch is a tree, it would definitely look like this. This tree has the same creepy and scary look as the real character.
8. Who wants a broccoli?
Is it a broccoli or is it a tree? In my perspective, it looks like a giant broccoli and it needs some cheese and bacon.
9. Somebody help it!
This tiny tree looks like it’s trying to pull out the bigger tree and it’s not doing a very good job. Despite its best effort, the bigger tree still isn’t moving.
10. Evil eyes
See the way it has its arms raised? Well, this huge tree looks like it’s meant to scare away people. And those eyes made it looked even more frightening.
11. Cthulhu tree
This is one odd-looking tree. It seems like it grew up and grew down again to look like Cthulhu.
12. Spaghetti, anyone?
Even if you’re hungry, you probably wouldn’t be tempted to grab a fork and dig in. This is one of the strangest looking spaghetti around.
13. Faces
This tree has seen a lot over the years. And looking at the faces on its trunk, I can say that it has witnessed quite a variety of tales.
14. Alligator tree
This would certainly pass as an alligator. It even has teeth!
15. Kissing a dragon
Animals aren’t the only ones you can pet and give kisses to. This dragon-looking tree also enjoys getting kisses on the nose.
16. A dragon among the trees
Nature is a really good artist. You have to admit, this is one real-looking dragon.
17. A big nose
They say trees can hear everything in their surrounding. I guess this one can smell, too.
18. A dragon skull
If there’s one thing trees mostly resemble, it’s got to be dragons. This one, for example, look like a dragon skull.
19. Eating the moon
If you’ve seen the movie Godzilla, you’d find this photo really familiar. The tree looks like the beast trying to eat the moon!
20. An owl
This doesn’t look like just an ordinary owl. Something tells me it’s wise and magical, too.
21. Multiple eyes
This tree is certainly uncomfortable to stand next to. With multiple eyes, you won’t be able to hide anything from it.
22. Groot taking a walk
It looks like Groot is all grown up now. He’s walking alone and without his Rocket or Star-Lord.
23. The pig in the forest
This tree could fool any hunter. Its stump clearly looks like a pig in the middle of the forest!
24. Offerings
If you’ve never heard of giving offerings to trees, you probably need to see this picture. The old tree looks like it’s in need of one.
25. Wait!
If you’re taking a walk at the beach, this is probably the last tree you’d want to see. The way it reaches out is creepy.
26. About sleeping in the woods
I often hear people saying that you shouldn’t sleep under a tree for a long time. This is probably what they’re talking about.
27. Open wide!
The tree must be hungry. The way its mouth is opened feels like it can eat anything that gets inside it, including the tree next to it.
28. Not so happy
This tree must be planted somewhere near the dog park. The look on its face suggests that another dog is about to pee.
29. An angel
Somebody help that angel. It must have been painful to hit a tree like that.
30. Amused tree
This tree is either surprised or trying to look funny. It’s so amusing that it can be the next Adventure Time character.
31. About dragons
If you’re into dragons, this photo might get you excited. It’s showing proof that dragons might be real after all.
32. A chicken on the road
Why does the chicken cross the road? Well, this photo might have the answer for you. I mean, that tree certainly resembles a rooster.
33. The tree with a face
This tree looks like it came out of a Japanese folklore. If you’ve heard about Kodama, you’d know what I’m talking about.
34. The kissing trees
It seems that humans aren’t the only sweet creatures on earth. These trees look like they’re enjoying a kiss.
35. A woman on the tree
It’s hard to believe that the tree made that image on its own. It looks like an almost perfect sculpture of a woman.
36. A moose
That is one huge moose. I bet no one would dare hang it on wall because of its enormous size.
37. Trapped man inside a tree
This is quite creepy. It appears like a man was trapped inside that tree and its branches are holding him back.
38. Funny tree
If you’re having a bad day, I’m pretty sure this tree will make you laugh so hard. Just look at the way it’s showing off its butt cheeks!
39. Alien?
This definitely looks like it’s been taken out of a horror story about aliens. Just staring at it gives me chills.
40. The king and its servant
Whatever it is that the bigger tree is holding, it looks praise-worthy for the smaller one. See the way it’s kneeling and reaching out? It feels like a knight praising its king.
41. The eye
That hole certainly looks like an eye and the way it stares is quite creepy. It feels like it has a hypnotizing effect. The more you stare at it, the more you’re drawn to it.
42. Big feet
Without much light, it’s easy to think that this tree and its roots are a huge creature’s feet. They are several times bigger than humans.
43. Warning
You don’t have to read the entire sign just to know what this tree is trying to say. The way it ate the sign and the image of the little girl reaching out are enough to tell you to stay away from it.
44. No boundaries
Based on this photo, it’s safe to say that the myth is real. Trees can really suck on things. Good thing they were just steel bars and not other living creatures.
45. Tree vs stone
At first, you’d think that a tree is no match against a stone. However, if you consider this picture, I can say that the tree is holding up well.
46. A tight grip
If you think trees are harmful, this picture will make you think twice. There’s no escaping a grip like this one.
47. The tree and the headstone
Trees tend to suck on everything that goes in their area of growth. A headstone is no exemption.
48. Removing the post
Nature has a way of removing things that don’t belong to it. Based on this photo, the tree isn’t really happy about the cement post. It seems like it’s trying to swallow it completely.
49. No letters allowed
Don’t bother sending any mail to this address anymore. The tree isn’t very welcoming when it comes to letters.
50. Just creepy
This tree’s shape isn’t the only thing makes it creepy. The fact that it’s growing in a cemetery makes it ten times more creepy.
