From the outside, this tiny home in the woods looks like many others you may have seen before. Inside, however, it’s unlike any tiny home you’ve ever seen.
Jessica and Carson Lynch built this gem of a home in 2015 and currently rent it out on Airbnb. Sitting on 5.5 acres of land, the unassuming tiny home is located on Guemes Island in Washington State, a community with just 650 full-time residents.
The unique home features a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and, surprisingly, two bedrooms.
If the weather is nice, your living space is doubled when you include the adorable front porch and seating deck with firepit, picnic table, and umbrella.
Given Jessica’s profession as an illustrator and Carson, who owns a wood shop, their tiny home is full of creative touches.
“This tiny house is also a makers house, featuring curated items made from artists and craftsman. It is a unique way to showcase handmade goods that you can use and admire during your stay. We have a notebook filled with info on where to find them online and in stores if you wish to purchase any for yourself,” it reads on their Airbnb listing.
The kitchen is modern with rustic touches, like the large farmhouse sink.
The kitchen has a mini fridge, two-burner stovetop, and toaster oven (that the Lynch’s say can fit a frozen pizza!). Located next to the kitchen and across from the seating area is a small dining nook. Of course, you could always BBQ and dine al fresco.
Just past the kitchen is the surprisingly spacious bathroom.
Inside the bathroom, you’ll find a flushing toilet, sink, and large stall shower. Next to the shower is a small closet for hanging clothes and storing toiletries. Jessica and Carson make sure to have the house fully stocked for their guests.
The cleverly designed seating area is multi-purpose, and a ladder folds down for access to one of the lofts.
Underneath the sofa, you’ll find storage for board games and DVDs and the center console expands to transform into stairs leading to the loft ladder. Absolutely genius!
The large master suite features a queen-size bed and eclectic lighting.
The radar sconces were made by one of Jessica and Carson’s featured artisans, School House Electric. Small windows let in natural light, and a vertical mirror creates the illusion of a larger space.
The second loft, or “bedroom,” is located on the opposite side of the tiny home.
If the second bedroom isn’t needed, Jessica and Carson are happy to transform it into a cozy and inviting reading nook instead. Otherwise, it’s a smaller “bedroom” than the master sleeping loft – perfect for a weekend getaway with friends or kids.
A view from the rear of the home shows how spacious their little cabin really is.
Stay at this adorable home during warmer months and take advantage of the outdoor living space.
There’s a small grocery store on the island where you can pick up goodies to throw on the BBQ or roast over the fire. Imagine enjoying a nice glass of wine with a roaring fire surrounded by peace and quiet.
