This is exactly what Clayton Hanchett, owner of this Ohana Tiny Home, is currently enjoying. According to Hanchett, the concept of the tiny home was inspired by a beach home designed for Louis Vuitton, but it was adapted to suit the Portland, Oregon area.

Hanchett’s beautiful home was designed by VIVA Collectiv alongside the expertise of architect Brian Crabb.

The word “Ohana” is a Hawaiian term that means “Family” and although the house is called “tiny”, it hosts Hanchett’s family of four.

Going into the specific details of the house, it measures almost 600 square feet, it actually offers more living space than most regular-size houses out there.

That area consists of two 174-square-foot trailers merged together by a 240-square-foot glass-roofed sunroom in the middle.

Not so “tiny” anymore, is it?

The house’s plan was specifically designed for a family of four and the two trailer sides of the house offer privacy among the family members. On top of that, Hanchett’s Ohana Tiny Home also showcases the majestic middle part which is the biggest highlight of its totality because it’s designed specifically for family time and entertaining guests.

The left side trailer of the house is where you’ll find the kitchen. It has a full-size fridge, a four-burner stove, and a washer/dryer. You will also find there their cozy master bedroom with a full-size bed and a small stool.

The bed’s side has two humongous windows on the sides where natural light comes in to give the bedroom that light ambiance. The windows also keep the entire room feeling light and clean.

You might notice the size of the bathroom, it’s small but it’s beautifully made with a creative tile design that makes its entirety luxurious-looking. The Ohana Tiny Home’s bathroom is well-ventilated and equipped with a bathtub, sink-mirror combo, and a toilet.

Going into the right side of the house, you’ll find their living area and two bedrooms lofted over the other. The perfect design and space for kids to bunk up whenever they just feel like relaxing.

The best part of the house.

Functional indeed are the house’s left and right sides, but no one can’t deny the fact that the middle part of the house is the best place to be. The glass design gives you a glimpse of the beautiful view outside surrounding the house.

The open-air sunroom also allows natural light to come, making it the best place to hang out with family, friends, or guests. According to Hanchett, they love using the middle sunroom area of the house to entertain visitors.

In fact, they’ve already hosted a get-together event for 50 guests who managed to enjoy the totality of the house, from both trailer sides, the sunroom, and even the beautiful yard.

“It’s fun to share with others,” Clayton tells CountryLiving.com. “Most people say, ‘I could see myself living here. This is very doable.’ That’s what we love about it.”
