Rubbing alcohol is great for cleaning out cuts and scrapes and you’ve probably heard that it also works great for cleaning items in your home and removing stains. But there are plenty of lesser known uses for rubbing alcohol, like getting rid of bugs or fixing broken makeup.

You’ll be shocked at what these little $2 bottles can do. Here are some of our favorite to uses for rubbing alcohol in your home.

1) Kill Dust Mites and Bed Bugs

Spray a mist of rubbing alcohol over your bed or anywhere else you have dust mites or bed bugs. Let the mist air dry and vacuum it up.

2) Fix Eye Shadow, Blush, or Pressed Powder

Pour some rubbing alcohol into a spray bottle and spray it over your broken eyeshadow, blush or pressed powder. Smooth it over with your finger, a spoon or anything else you think will work and let it dry and harden over few hours.

3) Stinky Things

Spray stinky shoes or other stinky items with some rubbing alcohol and let dry in a sunny spot to get rid of the smell.

4) Stretch Out Your Shoes

Spray a thin coat of rubbing alcohol on your shoes and inside on the soles. Then put some thick socks on and put your shoes on to stretch them out.

5) Disinfect Eyeglasses

6) DIY Air Freshener
