Well, as convenient as they can be, unfortunately, some so-called “home hacks” are just there to fool you. Simply, they just want to either bait you from watching or simply make fun of people on the internet.

That is why, as a responsible viewer, you must take precautionary measures before believing what you see on the internet, particularly on social media.

A TikTok user who goes by the handle ‘@mama_mila_‘ shared a video online which now has 3.1 million views. It’s called “10 of your favourite home hacks of 2022” and as expected, the video shows a list of amazing cleaning hacks anyone can do at home.

Another content creator from YouTube took the liberty of trying these home hack ideas.

Her name is Kallie Branciforte, the brilliant mind behind ‘But First, Coffee.’ She is a mom of three amazing kids, a blogger, and a YouTuber from Connecticut. According to her website, she is a morning person. Her body tends to shut down at 8:00 PM, so she has learned that in order to accomplish tasks, she needs to wake up early.

Currently, they are a family of five living in a cozy 1,100 sq ft home. Small house living suits their family, but they are planning to add a small addition soon. She’s a dedicated homebody. The majority of their time is spent at home, allowing them to tailor it to their liking.

In 2020, she made a bold decision. She quit her office job to fully embrace the roles of a YouTuber and blogger, and she hasn’t looked back since. In addition to creating content on her YouTube channel focused on realistic organization, productivity, and saving money, she has also built an extensive library of printables and guides that can be utilized by others.

Time to see the home hacks in action.

First, Kallie tried the baby oil on a stainless steel appliance like a refrigerator. It’s simple just apply a decent amount of baby oil on a microfiber cleaning cloth and rub it on smudges printed on your fridge to make it clean and shiny.

However, the results didn’t end up like what’s on the TikTok video. There were some stains that baby oil alone wasn’t able to remove so Kallie went ahead and used a proper stainless cleaner. Turns out, the baby oil hack only applies to fridges that are already clean and just need an extra wipe to get that sparkly shine look.

Next, she tried the shaving cream on makeup stains, particularly on white clothes. It didn’t go as planned on her first try because the makeup stain didn’t go away and as a responsible internet user, she looked up a couple of more suggestions about the hack.

Some suggested leaving the shaving cream on the stain for 10 minutes and so Kallie did, but the result was still the same. In the end, she ended up cleaning up the makeup stain as usual in the laundry which still gave her a not-so-impressive result.

There were a couple more things Kallie tried like cleaning baseboards using a foaming glass cleaner, a portable dishwasher, chopping board hack, using a mop to clean kitchen cabinets, and the proper way to mop carpets.

Kallie also tested the viral trashbag trick so make sure to watch the video below.
