Buying a home is expensive.
And in this ever-growing housing market, it seems like it’s not going to get any cheaper any time soon.
Luckily, there are people out there who have found ways around this issue.
They turn unlikely spaces into fully completed homes.
Now, I’m sure you’re aware of the tiny home and van life craze that is taking place.
People are downsizing in an effort to cut costs and live a simpler life.
And not only that, but when your home is on wheels, it means that you can up and leave anytime you want.
The added freedom is a huge draw to people who want to live in a tiny home on a trailer or a van.
However, life in a van isn’t for everyone.
You’ll have to get used to working and living in tight spaces and probably get rid of most of the things that you don’t use on a daily basis.
But if you can get past these small hurdles then living in a van may be right for you.
One woman decided to take her dream of living in a van and turn it into a reality.
Her name is Clare Colins, she is 64-years-old, and she lives full time in her Fiat van.
Now, you may have seen a van conversion or two in your time.
Heck, you may even live in one right now.
But Clare’s van is different from the rest.
In fact, it may be the most beautiful van conversion ever completed.
Clare is an artist and was living in a home with a mortgage that was costing her quite a lot of money.
She decided that she could be using her money more wisely if she sold her house and moved into a van.
It wasn’t the house that made her happy, after all, it was her work and lifestyle.
In a van, she could still get all of her work done and live a happy life.
If you want to see some of Clare’s art, you can check out her page on Redbubble.
Her work is amazing and it seems to represent the same type of simple beauty that is portrayed in her van conversion.
The first thing that sets it apart from other conversions is the wooden door that is built right behind the sliding van door.
When the van door is shut, you have no idea that it is a conversion at all, but when you slide it open, you see a beautifully built wooden door, complete with glass windows that open and close.
Clare named her van “The Mouse House” and had small little mice carved into various parts of the conversion.
As you walk in, you can’t help but be amazed at the craftsmanship.
It seems like no detail was overlooked.
Clare has room to cook, work, and sleep all within her van.
She seems happy with her decision to downsize and I don’t think that she has any plans to move back into a stationary house anytime soon.
You’ve got to check out the entire conversion to see just how amazing it really is so watch the video below and be sure to share it with a friend!
