Tiny homes are getting more popular year after year. They’re affordable and they can be quite beautiful.
You can truly do anything you want with this simple space.
Plus, with the lack of affordable housing in areas across the U.S. and other countries, tiny homes make homeownership a dream come true.
So whether people or moving into tiny homes out of economic necessity or because they prefer minimalist living, the freedom of living in a tiny space is worth it, according to Tyshae Walton, who recently realized her lifelong dream to move into a tiny house.
Tyshae dreamed of living in a tiny home since she was only 12 years old. Luckily, her mom was very supportive and encouraged her to create a journal while growing up about her dream home, which she did.
So, when Tyshae was finally able to make her dream come true, she didn’t hesitate, moving from California to a tiny home village in Texas.
Having journaled her tiny home designs and ideas over the years, Tyshae ended up handing her journal over to her tiny home builders so they could turn her dreams into reality.
“They literally brought everything in that journal to life. My home is 32×8 and was built by Indigo River Tiny Homes. The village I live in is called Lake Dallas Tiny Home village,” Tyshae explained on YouTube comments.
She currently rents the land for $500 a month and pays about $20 for electricity. Luckily, the rent for the land covers water, sewage, and access to a laundry room.
Tyshae’s tiny home is absolutely adorable. Red French doors open up into the house. Her kitchen includes a full fridge, a full stove/oven, a sink area with plenty of counter space, and enough storage for her dishes, pans, spices, and other food items that aren’t refrigerated.
The house has wood throughout, an oscillating overhead fan, an air conditioner and heater, and a full bathroom with a shower/bath, toilet, and sink area.
There is room in the bathroom for a dual washer and dryer plus plenty of storage.
Tyshae is a massage therapist, so she even has a loft area where she does Thai massages and spiritual energy work, including meditation. And on the other side of her loft area, she relaxes, as well as reads and writes.
There is a cute and comfy entertainment space with a couch/futon and TV.
And off of the living room are the stairs to the second floor. Upstairs is the bedroom, which has a skylight over the queen-size bed. Right off of the bedroom, there is a “New-York style” balcony.
The tiny home features a lot of “openness,” natural light, and earthy colors.
She even has family come to visit every other month. Eventually, she plans to add a mini dining area complete with bar stools, which will serve as a meeting/eating space for guests.
“I went tiny because I’m a very minimalist, simple type of woman,” Tyshae explained.
While Tyshae adores her current tiny home location, she plans to move her home to Louisiana in five years onto land she purchased. She plans to live entirely off the grid.
“I plan on living tiny for the rest of my life,” she said.
It’s incredible to see Tyshae’s long-time dream come to life, and her home is so lovely and warm.
