Living off-grid in a tiny home is becoming one of the most beautiful trends in recent years.
Being debt-free, owning your own tiny home, being able to travel, and meeting different people are just some benefits of living in a tiny mobile home.
Last 2020, Bryce Langston, the owner of the well-loved YouTube channel Living Big In A Tiny House, interviewed Jude.
They featured her mobile home that will inspire anyone looking for ideas for tiny homes.
Jude had been living on the road for many years.
One day, she realized she had more potential. She felt tired of living in other people’s designs when she knows she could design a better home for herself.
She made her dream come true and with an initial budget of 100k; she started building her mobile tiny home.
Jude didn’t expect she would exceed her budget, but she didn’t regret following her dreams.
She bought a brand new truck for 80K, 6K for the solar set-up unit, 10K for the self-containment underneath and the gas lockers, and the other things she needed to buy.
It may have cost a little more, but she now has a brand new vehicle and the home of her dreams.
Bryce loved the look of Jude’s tiny home outside.
Jude explained that her home is made of cedar and not treated, bringing out the natural beauty. It also has handmade windows and a big patio window.
She wanted to spend most of her time in her living room. When she looks out the window, she feels like she’s outside.
Jude also installed scissor stairs and stunning French doors.
The truck home is about 6.4 meters long and 2.4 wide. It has self-containment tanks that hold all the gray and black water like a campervan.
According to Jude, everything should have more than one use.
She wants to have a home that is beautiful, spacious, and has dual purposes, thus maximizing each part of her home.
True enough, her design amazed Bryce.
Upon entering her home, Bryce said that it didn’t look or feel like a tiny house. It was well lit and the first thing that you will notice was her spacious living room.
Her living room has a cozy couch overlooking the wide window. It looks and feels like you’re outside.
She can travel in a forest or beach, and she could enjoy the beauty of her surroundings.
This space doubles as her bedroom, where she has pull-down and pull-out beds. Even her stairs also have pull-out storage.
Of course, she has a fireplace.
Her kitchen is as spacious and also very clean. There is a full-size gas oven, a normal house fridge of 240 volts, and a deep sink.
Jude was also proud of her pantry and drawers.
Her bathroom was also a surprise. She has an enclosed shower, a vanity with storage, a micro-flush toilet, and storage underneath the floor.
Cool? Definitely!
“Living in tiny home and having it on the back of a truck has given me a lifestyle that a lot of people can’t imagine but it’s the most incredible lifestyle. It really is,” said Jude.
Can you imagine going to different places, meeting new friends, and enjoying a different view every time?
“You wake up to these absolutely gorgeous views. You get to see places in your country that you wouldn’t normally see and you get to meet the most amazing people,” Jude shared.
