Meet Jen Gressett. She’s 51 years old and from Weld County, Colorado. Let’s join her as she lets us see her tiny luxury house on wheels!

The house has 34 by 10 feet floor coverage with a high ceiling.

“I’m here to tell you that there is a freedom that comes with getting rid of things and getting rid of all that extra space that you think you need,” Gressett said in an interview. “I have so much of my life back and that makes me so happy,” she added.

Back in 2018, she ended her marriage of 18 years and decided to look for affordable housing. While searching, she came across this option to build a tiny house.

And that journey began.

Enthusiastic about starting over with her life being single, Gressett went head first into building her own tiny house! There was a lot to learn, given that she had no idea what to do first.

But she was thankful since it was something entirely new that she could put her focus on. This idea would also give her life a second chance.

At first, Gressett needed funding to build her dream house on wheels. She used the profit from the house where they split with her ex-husband. She hired a builder on Craigslist and started the project in September 2019.

The builder started in the shell and framing, however, after a few months of waiting and the hired builder did nothing about it, she went to plan B.

Building the tiny house was not all that easy.

Just about 8 months from initially buying the trailer and shells framed, Gressett hired a certified tiny home builder who is based in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Out of that experience, she said to have a professional build your projects to avoid any mishaps.

The tiny house got delivered on January 2021 and she was very happy with the outcome. All of her preferences and requests were made spot-on.

The all-white interior makes it more luxurious and bigger. With extra windows to let natural air in. Her kitchen has the biggest area as it’s where she mostly spends her time mostly.

She also has her living area comfortably set with a big TV, a couch, and a hanging chair. The bathroom has a working tub, compost toilet, and a washer/dryer that’s conveniently placed.

Upstairs she has her own loft bed on one side, and another loft bed for her daughter on the other.

The journey altogether was great indeed!
