A tiny home could also be a great idea to generate income.
Most people build tiny homes to downsize and live a more minimalist life.
However, a tiny house could be a perfect income-generating idea as a rental home, whether short or long-term.
Precious Price built a tiny home in her backyard, making her quit her corporate job.
She lived in a 3-bedroom home in Atlanta, Georgia, and when the pandemic hit, work and business weren’t good.
Her work trips had to stop, and so did her Airbnb rentals which she relied on to pay her mortgage.
Precious was pushed to find ways to earn and not worry about losing income.
That’s when she started building The Cove Escape.
It’s a 12×24-foot shed conversion unit and is now a beautiful home rental.
She wanted to live here as she rented out her main home.
And as restrictions slowly eased, this tiny home is already one of her many vacation rentals; all income-generating and made her decide to quit her corporate job.
This cozy shed in her backyard has everything you need in a home.
You enter into a living space that could be a couch or a bed for quick naps when you don’t want to get up in the loft.
The sofa has a movable mini table beside it so you can put some snacks and drinks and just chill in front of the TV.
Across the living room is the kitchen, which makes it even more convenient.
It has a small nook where you can have your meals, and the kitchen was a room she did not skimp on.
Precious loves to cook, so she made sure that renters who also love to cook get to enjoy a full-sized kitchen.
It has a two-door fridge, microwave, stovetop induction cooker, coffee maker, and juicer.
Who wouldn’t love that?
For the bathroom, Precious utilized sliding doors to save space.
Precious used a sliding barn door (which she proudly stained herself) that opened to a pristine bathroom.
She decided to add more light by the mirror and used a basic toilet because she didn’t want to make it complicated for guests.
But the highlight of the bathroom is the shower.
The shower is bigger than you would expect in a tiny home.
It has a height clearance of 7 feet, perfect for taller guests.
There’s also a receded part of the wall as some sort of shelf for your toiletries, while the glass on it allows light to come through.
She used a double glass sliding door to maximize the space.
The loft bed is spacious enough for a queen bed.
However, Precious said that the space is just for sleeping since there is only enough room for people to crouch and crawl to their positions in the bed.
So, if you want to work, chill, or take a nap, there’s the living area for that.
