A young couple from Stone Mountain, Georgia moved into a 1990 Blud Bird school bus over two years ago. Since making the move, they couldn’t be happier.

After Julie and Andrew Puckett’s landlord raised their rent in Atlanta, they decided to make a huge change by downsizing and living the tiny home lifestyle. However, instead of your standard small cottage or a mobile trailer, the couple opted for an old school bus.

Julie, Andrew, their dog Starbuck, and a cat all live in their cozy converted home. Thanks to Julie’s dad, they have custom-made furnishings throughout.

In addition to the long sofa in the main living area, the driver’s seat of the bus provides extra seating and a small workspace.

A panel above the mirror provides extra storage, and the curtains shut out any unwanted light and creates privacy.

A small kitchen table folds up and down, leaving extra space when it’s not in use.

The couple says that when the table is stored away, that’s usually Starbucks’ favorite spot to take naps. Oh, it’s also his kennel!

Underneath the 6-foot-long couch that was built by Mr. Puckett, there is a generous amount of extra storage.

A wood stove is an all-natural and very cost-efficient way to heat a small space.

Looking back into the sleeping area, the couple got creative with the shelving near the ceiling and turned into a bookcase.

The bed is surrounded by windows that open to the sounds of nature.
