Tucked away amidst the lush greenery of a sprawling 100-hectare organic farm in France, there stands a captivating tiny home that embodies sustainable living and ingenious design.

This whimsical creation came to life thanks to a couple who returned from their adventures in New Zealand and decided to take over the farm from the man’s parents.

Finding themselves in need of a suitable abode, they ingeniously built this DIY marvel on an old tractor-trailer.

Together, P.H., a farmer, and his partner Bea, who works remotely for an Irish company, transformed the farm into a thriving organic sanctuary, nurturing a myriad of trees and caring for the vast expanse of land.

Measuring eight meters in length, 3.5 meters in width, and four meters in height, the tiny house is an exquisite fusion of natural and reclaimed materials.

Its exterior boasts a charming blend of chestnut wood and corrugated iron, carefully selected to harmonize with the rustic surroundings and other rural structures nearby.

To keep their sustainable ethos intact, the couple sourced the chestnut wood from their own farm and reclaimed the corrugated iron, guaranteeing its endurance for a century.

Their commitment to using locally sourced and reclaimed materials shines through every aspect of their home.

Step inside, and you’ll be captivated by the clever use of space and thoughtful design. Upon entering, you’re greeted by a kitchen that seamlessly opens up into the living room, creating an illusion of a much larger area.

The white walls and generous windows further amplify this sense of openness, making the tiny house feel airy and filled with light.

The couple’s dedication to incorporating local and reclaimed materials extends to the interior as well, where each element, including the windows, floorboards, and roof, carries its own unique history.

Don’t be surprised to find a full-sized piano taking center stage in the living room.

The piano, a cherished part of Bea’s life, found its perfect place by creatively adapting the front of the tiny house to accommodate its shape. The living room also boasts a versatile couch that doubles as comfortable seating, an extra bed, and convenient storage.

Moving on to the kitchen, it’s designed with P.H.’s height in mind, featuring a taller-than-usual countertop.

The couple’s love for cooking and dedication to growing their own vegetables called for a spacious kitchen with a large sink.

To make pantry access easy, they installed a fully-pulling pantry that grants them effortless access to their food supplies.

Interestingly, you won’t spot a fridge in their kitchen, as they found themselves relying more on their abundance of fresh produce.

The tiny house thoughtfully includes a separate toilet and shower, ensuring simultaneous use. The shower itself boasts a lush jungle vibe and offers a luxurious experience with its copper pipe showerhead.

As for the toilet, it’s a composting one, with a convenient trap door on the outside for effortless emptying.

Upstairs, you’ll discover the cozy bedroom adorned with a spacious bed. The couple thoughtfully added an extra 10 centimeters to the bed’s height for storage and to accommodate P.H.’s stature.

The staircase leading to the bedroom doubles as storage space, with each step cleverly housing a storage box.

Not to be missed, the tiny house also boasts a small balcony—a cherished spot for the couple to savor their morning coffee and watch the mesmerizing sunset.

Constructing this remarkable tiny house cost the couple 40,000 Euros, but it represents much more than just monetary value.
