Stop throwing away plastic bottles and start getting creative with them instead. Plastic bottles end up in our landfills and our oceans, never decomposing or disintegrating. It is harmful to our environment, and sadly, many cities don’t offer recycling programs.

We have put together nine creative and fun ways to use empty plastic bottles. Get ready for some super unique crafts and life hacks!

1. Cherry blossom stamp

This is a fantastic art project for Spring! Dip the bottom of a 2-liter plastic bottle into some paint to create some floral patterns that are perfect for creating adorable cherry blossom prints.

2. Bottle cap mosaic

This woman’s mosaic design might be a bit intimidating and intricate, but you can use colored plastic bottle caps to create your own colorful mosaic. Create a fun back splash or add a pop of color to your backyard.

3. Hanging herb and plant garden

Cut a hole on the side of an empty plastic 2-liter bottle, fill with soil and use to grow herbs and other plants. Secure with wire to hang from the ceiling or a wall. A conversation piece for a kitchen and looks great on an outdoor patio.

Collect lots of colorful plastic bottles and create a bright and unique toy bin for kids or pets. Just use a glue gun to stack and secure the bottle caps. Use your creativity to make a one-of-a-kind pattern.

7. Cute planters or treat bowls

Cut a two-liter plastic bottle in half, but leave two little points on one side. Paint the plastic bottle, and turn them into little kittens or bunnies. These are great to use as planters or for keeping candy on a desk.

8. Homemade watering can

Save big juice jugs that have flat caps; poke holes on top of the lid and use the bottle as a watering can. It’s the perfect size to water herb and flower gardens.
