When it comes to the show “Fixer Upper” most people know and love it. For one, Chip and Joanna Gaines are a lovely couple that everyone loves for their personalities and incredible home renovations.

Chip and Joanna have been busy working their usual magic on homes across the country, transforming them into almost unrecognizable forms of their original selves.

A dated home from the 90’s

The pair had a real challenge on their hands when they were tasked with getting rid of one home’s outdated nineties style.

Though the house was large and airy, there were certain features Chip and Joanna knew they had to change on first impression.

The living space had old-fashioned carpets, an oddly formal built-in fireplace, garish wallpaper and unusual-looking windows.

No standout features

It was a similar story in the kitchen, which wasn’t a bad size, but was filled with bland wood cabinets. It was also separated from the dining room by a wall, which made the space feel much more enclosed.

The master bedroom ticked all the boxes when it comes to size, and only really needed cosmetic updates. The bathroom would take the biggest work – it would need everything ripped out and reconfigured.

Once Chip and Joanna had assessed what they were working with, it was time to get started on the renovation.

Hello demo day

The couple’s demolition team wasted no time in ripping out the unwanted furnishings, pulling off the flooring, smashing glass in the bathroom, knocking walls through, and generally causing organized chaos.

Fast-forward weeks of hard work, and the new and improved house was ready for its big reveal.

The power of paint

The young couple who had bought the home could only gasp at its outside upgrade: it was brown and drab, but painted a bright, clean white.

The house had a new pitched roof, new windows, and new shutters. And Chip and Joanna hadn’t forgotten about the garden, either – there was a whole new landscape for the couple to enjoy.

Inside the home, the entrance hall had been transformed, with solid hardwood floors, a modern art deco light, and a bright, clean stairwell.

A whole new house

In the living space, the trim work had been simplified, and the wall with the fireplace had been decorated with a grey rock face that gave the room a completely unique look. Grey and wooden furnishings matched perfectly with the new decor.

The kitchen and dining room had one of the biggest transformations. The two rooms had been blended into one, with the kitchen expansion allowing room for a beautiful modern island.

Moving onto the master bedroom, it was simple and clean with pale grey walls, a modern king-size bed, wooden floors, and a rustic-looking sliding wooden door.

This door led into the bathroom, which a large walk-in shower, a stand-alone white tub, glass shelving – and, most impressively, a huge window looking out onto a balcony.

There’s no denying that this is one of the best “Fixer-Upper” transformations we’ve seen so far. The house is almost unrecognizable in its finished form.

Though some people would say there was nothing wrong with the original home, Chip and Joanna’s improvements prove exactly why a modernization was so desperately needed.
