Woman’s tired of hoarding so downsizes to a charming tiny home with her cats
Jen sold a lot of her "stuff" so she could live more simply in a tiny home. Plus, she's saving tons of money too.

People nowadays have a tendency to go bigger and bigger when it comes to house renting or buying.

Advertisements on TV and social media just make us want more and more stuff, things that we don’t necessarily need and that, anyway, we could live a happy life even without them.

All that stuff we buy means that we need to find room to put it at home. From rooms of the house to a storeroom, the things we buy need to be placed somewhere.

And when our stuff doesn’t fit in our house anymore, we just look for a bigger house, since we decide that our current home is “too small”.

And this just goes on and on, and we buy things we can live without, and we move into new homes, but what we forget to think about is whether we are actually happy.

When former hoarder Jen realized that buying stuff all the time didn’t make her happy, she made a decision that only a few people would have the strength to do.

She moved into a tiny home and took with her only the things that could fit in there.

“I started to get aggravated,” Jen admitted to Tiny House Giant Journey, “[…] and I said ‘if I just sold all this stuff and went tiny, this stuff wouldn’t control me.”

And, indeed, with $58,300 she had a tiny house built for her and her two, at the time, cats.

The house looks beautiful on the outside and it is very functional on the inside.

First of all, there’s a living area with a couch which is also storage space and it can be turned into a bed if Jen has guests over.

Right next to it there’s the kitchen where the woman spends a lot of time, since she’s all about healthy living and healthy eating.

She also has a good-sized fridge, bigger than other people living tiny choose, because she needs it to put fruits and veggies inside.

Right next to the kitchen there’s a bathroom. There’s a nice-size shower, and everything a bathroom needs.

On the other side of the kitchen there are stairs that lead to her bedroom. Each step opens and is a storage space, which is amazing.

Only one of them is empty and this is because it is dedicated to the cats. In there the cats can enter through a cat flap, and then walk on the left and use that “room” as their toilet. What a genius idea!

Jen’s bedroom is small but beautiful. It’s kind of a loft room, and both the woman and her cats spend a lot of time there just chilling and having fun.

The cats also have a special catwalk that they can enjoy whenever they feel like it.

Jen has been living for more than three years in the tiny house and she just loves it. Plus, she’s saving tons of money too.

She also has a YouTube channel and an Instagram account where she shares her tiny living experience.
