We’ve all heard of mama’s boys. But have you ever heard of grandmama’s boy?
Matthew Stewart of Destin, Florida is a grandmama’s boy. He absolutely loves his Grandma Bobbe, who he affectionately calls GB.
And how can you not?! How could you not love GB with her big flashy round glasses and bright green and pink strawberry patterned hat?
That’s one funky grandma! Matthew loves his grandma so much that he has an Instagram account dedicated to her the handle is stewiez71 but the bio reads GB and Me.
He has a fairly large Instagram following with more than 158,000 followers and even sells GB and Me merch.
And it’s no wonder how they have so many fans.
GB is full of hilarious antics.
The love between them is also quite beautiful and inspiring.
“GB was there for me through the toughest time of my life,” Matthew says on Instagram. “I lived with her for four years after my grandpa passed away. We were already close but that time brought us even closer.”
“We have always been there for each other. She will never understand how special she is to me. I will do everything possible to make her happy and comfortable. For the rest of her life! Love is the most important part of life.”
And Matthew definitely made good on his word.
He basically built an entire wing in his new house so GB can move in.
“It meant the world to be able to show her our new home! I cannot wait to actually move into it and have her with us!” Matthew said.
“I know we are all VERY excited. She was there for me in the past for the toughest time of my life and now I get to take care of her in the final years of her life. I’m very blessed!”
The video of Matthew revealing this surprise to his grandma is truly priceless. It was liked more than 20,000 times.
It starts with Matthew riding up to the house that’s under construction, explaining to her where her room and her sitting room will be.
He then explains that Jack and Jill bathroom will connect the two rooms. GB’s room pretty much dropped when Matthew told her this. She look really excited about it.
Her bathroom will also be equipped with a stand-up shower, a bench, and handrails to keep GB safe.
GB put her hand to her mouth and then started weeping.
She removed her glasses to blot her eyes with tissues.
“I know that somebody wants me,” GB told her grandson.
And that hit him hard.
“The fact that she said this broke my heart,” he said.
Matthew then explained that they’ll be moving by January.
“I’m packed and ready to go,” GB said. “You sure we couldn’t go in and move pretty soon?”
The house was erect but bare on the inside and wrapping on the outside.
So, that was going to be a no.
“Well, I don’t think they’re quite done with it. It’ll be here before you know it. You’ll be living here with us. It will be our happy little family.”
