This is one of the most beautiful designs I've ever seen on a truly "tiny" house. Everything about her home is so fluid.

Tiny homes are beautiful, no question. But they’re also much more than that.

Each one has a story behind it.

Each began as an inspiration that became a reality. Bryce Langston is here to help tell those stories.

Langston is the host of the hit YouTube channel Living Big In A Tiny House, which features other tiny homes with stories to tell.

This tiny home tells Bobbie’s story.

Bobbie is the featured tiny homeowner for this video and her story is incredible.

She explained to Bryce that all she wanted at the time was an affordable, warm, and dry home for her and her kids after her separation.

She was determined to put her life back and start anew.

Though the whole project took longer than expected, everything started falling into place when a friend offered to finance her tiny home.

Bobbie studied architecture in Auckland.

She also put that knowledge to good use while working in Asia for about 15 years.

She used to have many big architectural projects, but over the years, she craved to come back home and build something for herself.

This time, she made it come true.

Bryce first noticed the raked wall that, according to Bobbie, was her idea of extra space without extending the length of the tiny home.

The base deck is 7.6, while the cantilevers are 9 meters at the top, with a 3.1 external width.

She also has a container garden and extended living room space outside.

You’d also notice that they have a blue tongue lizard that lives inside the house, but also has an enclosure outside.

There is also a large parking space.

Amazing woodwork will greet you as you enter her cozy home. According to her, she used locally sourced Japanese cedar so it wouldn’t have to be oiled.

At first, she was hesitant to go with the PVC windows but they turned out great.

Also, the huge door was a last-minute choice, but seeing it now, Bobbie said it was a great decision.

She also has many reclaimed pieces of rimu timber for her steps, ceiling, stairs, and table.

Everything was gorgeously done.

The overall feeling of the home is warm and cozy.

Bobbie said her experience with making small houses for bigger families in Hongkong helped her a lot.

She knew storage was a key function, so she made sure that she had plenty of storage space that was also hidden.

They have a lounge with storage underneath and just above that is Bobbie’s sleeping loft.

Of course, there are her multifunctional storage stairs, skylight, and aesthetic baskets for her to organize their stuff.

On the other side, she has a big table with under-table craft storage for her kids.

The kitchen has a double gas stove.

She also has a dishwasher, but no oven.

Additionally, the cabinets on the opposite side conceal the plumbing for a washing machine, though she continues to use a laundromat.

Behind the kitchen is the bathroom.

And the beautiful door that turned out to be a waterproof adhesive film impressed Bryce.

We love the beautiful blue basin, an accent that she’s proud of.

Just above is the kid’s loft and where you’d find a climbing wall and monkey bars.

The room is spacious because the beds are foldable.

Bobbie said that she aimed for 60-80k but the cost went up to 140k, plus a lot of her unskilled
hours.

She wouldn’t change anything.

For her, the time and freedom that she is enjoying now is something that money can’t buy.

“Having this small home for me and my family, to me, means freedom and comfort,” Bobbie said.
