All you need is a witch’s cauldron which you can find at just about any Halloween store.

Then you dress it up to turn it into an awesome prop.

There are a lot of steps to this tutorial but you don’t have to do them all. Just the bubbling cauldron without hanging it from a teepee or painting it elaboratly will still look just as cool.

First, you’ll want to spraypaint your cauldron with a flat black base coat.

This will serve as a good primer for your next layers.

Next, mix your oatmeal and Mod Podge and dab it onto your cauldron. Make sure you mix a lot more Mod Podge than oatmeal so it sticks.

You could also use something other than oatmeal if you’re concerned about animals trying to eat it.

You’ll want to paint it on in a spilled pattern so it looks like it bubbled over the sides of the cauldron.

Let it dry, then paint a layer of Mod Podge over it so it stays.

After that, use your paintbrush and dab patches of black and brown paint to create a rust look. Use a light tapping motion and twist your brush as you go. Use orange or copper to add highlights.

Next, cover your chunks of oatmeal in neon green paint, and don’t be afraid to let your paint drip.

Once your cauldron is dry you’ll want to tie your sticks together to make a teepee.

Spray your sticks with black spray paint. Use a chain spray-painted with dull black paint.

Drill holes in the side of your cauldron and attach your chains to it.

Then hang your cauldron from the teepee with your chains.

Take a plastic bag and coil up some orange string lights. Spray some spray foam over the lights.

Wicked Master placed a plastic piece of Tupperware in the center to give something to build the fire up around.

Paint your heap of dried foam with black and red spray paint with layers that are light enough so your string lights still shine through.

Place that underneath your cauldron and put some bricks around the piece so it looks like an authentic fire.

Add some ultrasonic pond foggers in your cauldron.

Place a three peg platform with a round piece of foam on top and place a bowl on top of it covered with a black plastic bag.

Fill it with a few inches of water and put your vibrating foggers inside. Hang a green-colored outdoor light at the top of your teepee so it points downward at the cauldron and gives it a creepy look.
