Man uses garbage to build incredible tiny house with a beautiful music studio
He has corks for walls and cigar boxes he turned into one-of-a-kind cabinets. And that's not even the half of it. 😍

DIY building has often been a means to express a person’s feelings as an art form.

More often than not, it serves as their emotional and spiritual healing as they journey to completing their projects.

This way of building is incredible.

Let’s venture into this awesome house by Christo Morehead who built it with mostly reclaimed materials.

He upgraded trash into treasure.

His love for woodworking gave him the courage to build the house entirely with his own hands.

Though he did mention that he had consultation and guidance from the experts while building it.

The plan started by looking into land.

He scouted for available properties that would suit his tiny house needs.

And when he got the property, he then carefully laid out the initial setup for building the house from the ground up.

This tiny house is situated in Asheville, NC. The outside view looks great and the area is spacious. The house itself has 460 square feet of living area.

But what’s inside is greater.

As Christo loves woodworking and music, he incorporated both and made instruments out of anything.

The living room displays a variety of his creation of string instruments.

It has a high head space with lofts on each side. The wood used on the walls is from reclaimed wood and creates a tone within the house.

He ditched paint and tile for corks.

Going into the bathroom, the wall design is a symmetry of wine corks he collected from his mother and from local wine bars.

He’s got cigar box cabinets.

Under the sink and below the bathroom mirror are cigar boxes which he made into small cabinets.

In the kitchen area, located on the other side of the house, the wood used is still recycled.

The breakfast bar’s design is inspired by his love for music, it also looks like a mountain with a sunset view.

The kitchen’s all about easy access.

Everything is placed on shelves to make this possible.

The refrigerator is also ergonomically placed so that he can grab anything that he needs while cooking or preparing food.

Moving on to the lofts, Christo’s wild imagination is visible in how he created the stairs. It’s a little bit of a ladder, he claims.

He used cigar boxes to create a mosaic for the backdrop of his bedroom loft.

The side facing the living room is open so he can overlook everything and let sunlight in from the windows and into the wide space.

The recording studio.

The music studio is his favorite area as it is his biggest passion in life. The biggest challenge was creating a soundproof wall in a small space.

So, he used foams to absorb the vibrations, and triangular blocks of scrapped wood frames to reflect the sound.

Surrounding the studio are his instruments, from the strings to the percussions, and the electronics to help him create the music.

The instruments he created are also displayed here.

Christo shared, “The whole journey of building this house ironically became something of a philosophical and spiritual journey for me.”

His passion and dedication to his craft have made a beautiful tiny house that resembles his life’s journey.
