Her family bought a property that seemed in the perfect location, but it wasn’t in its best condition. In fact, the house looked old and worn down since it’s over a century old!

She was happy to share their renovation journey of every room in the house. Read until the end for a link to their playlist.

Now, this 1900 farmhouse looks new, and they did a splendid job with it.

In this video, Janine showed the finishing touches they did in their home after all the renovations inside. All that process gave their exterior a more updated look, making the entire estate more homey than before the renovation.

One major renovation they had to do was the exterior paint.

At first, her husband Nolan tried to do it alone, but it took longer than they wanted. They gave in and realized they would need some help with everything, so they asked an Amish painter to repaint the entire house.

The result was absolutely stunning!

However, the painter pointed out some wood was rotten and needed replacement.

Janine and Nolan had them replaced right away. They had them ripped off and replaced with new ones, even following the style of the old house.

They also did this for the window frames because she loved the look and wanted to preserve it.

Nolan also added insulation from the outside.

They decided to do so since the studs inside were so narrow they couldn’t blow insulation in. He decided to rip off the boards facing west (since that’s where the wind blows) and added insulation.

This warmed their house more during the cold days.

They also remade their drive-in porch and turned it into a beautiful pathway.

They had to rip up the cement, take down the front steps, and completely get rid of what used to be there. They created a new foundation from underneath, a new porch, and a walkway that curves along the planters by their doorstep.

The roof and the gutter also had to be repainted and redone.

They scraped the old paint coat off the roof and painted it to a beautiful, pristine off-white like the walls. Although, some parts looked uneven because it rained after they repainted them.

They also had people reinstall new gutters so rainwater won’t run off down the end of their roof.

Lastly, Janine’s brother-in-law came and repaired the porch.

It looked old and rotten, so they tore it down entirely and changed it into concrete. They also added new sidings, pillars, and frames to complete the look of the porch.

Unlike the old house, this one looked cozy and perfect for hanging out. They also added an overhanging roof with a solid pillar to cover their front porch.
