Small space living has been on the rise for years now. An Inhabitat article dated all the way back to 2010 proclaims that, even then, more and more Americans were expressing an interest in tiny homes.

Back then, it was Dee Williams who was making headlines as the result of her 84-square-foot “Tumbleweed” home (pictured below).

However, as more and more people became interested in the benefits of small space living (such as less maintenance, less debt, and being more environmentally-friendly), their creativity began to soar, resulting in a vast array of incredibly amazing tiny homes.

Like this one.

Or this one.

But these two are nothing compared to The Fairhaven.

Despite all appearances, the Fairhaven is not actually a stationary structure— it’s a model park home, meaning you can bring it wherever the Hell you want.

So, as you can probably tell from my enthusiasm, it’s already pretty awesome in my books. But the Fairhaven is much more than just a model park: it’s an incredible vacation home, managing to combine both the rugged outdoors and the convenience of at-home luxuries and amenities.

As you may have noticed from the picture above, the Fairhaven’s intricate wooden patio instantly catches the eye.

Because of the patio’s unique, open structure, the owner could potentially switch between using it as an “indoor” and “outdoor” area.

As you walk through the Fairhaven’s front door, you are immediately greeted by a cozy yet modern-looking living room, complete with wood floors, a gorgeous built-in fireplace, enough wall space to hang a TV, a built-in shelving unit, and a lovely window-side reading alcove.

The kitchen is directly attached to the living room and showcasing the Fairhaven’s impressively modern appliances and design.

As per reports, the kitchen’s “dining table” can easily be transformed into a kitchen island, once again demonstrating that multi functionality is key to living in such a small space.

Despite all of the Fairhaven’s luxury amenities, I definitely still think that its amazing rooftop deck manages to takes the cake.

Unfortunately, the Fairhaven’s time has come and gone. It is no longer listed as an available model on the Wildwood Lakefront Cottages website, and Faber Construction has stated that they will no longer be building Fairhavens as a result of a regent change in regulations.

Whatever the case, the Fairhaven is still an amazing testament to just how far small space living has come in 7 short years.

Now, I can’t wait to see what’s on the horizon!
