One giant hurdle for young people in this day and age is buying a home. Housing isn’t exactly anywhere as affordable as it was back in the day, and that leaves most of us having to think really hard for workarounds.
More often than not, your best bet is to share the rent with a couple of other people. You know, take some of that load off. Rent itself is no light blow to your salary. Though maybe you’d like to know about another clever solution that some people are turning to.
How about converting a 2-story shed into a full-on home?
Meet the prefab shed homes, made from a two-story shed purchased from Home Depot. The TR-1600 shed is quite the sizable shed. It boasts two stories and quite a lot of room inside.
Plus, it’s a fraction of the cost of a typical house. Houses will cost you a herculean amount of money to buy. Think, hundreds of thousands of dollars. It’s simply out of the question without a mortgage for most of us.

These prefab sheds though, are a tiny fraction of the cost and have plenty of room in them for furnishing and living. It’s about 20 square meters in total, and the presence of a second story is incredibly useful.
The Tuff shed lives up to its name, being quite the well-built and securely put-together structure it is.
It’s still a shed at its very core, so the floors and walls are naturally a bit spongy. That’s where customization comes in, and people have absolutely gone to town with making these sheds their own.
Throw some better walls on, furniture, paint, and carpets and you’d never even know that this is a shed from the inside.
Even acquiring all those furnishings for the shed is still a whole lot less than what you’d need for a normal house.

That interior is nothing short of fantastic, and that front porch just completes everything.
With a transformation like that, it just vaguely meets the definition of a “shed” now.
The shed may be affordable for a home, but don’t think that the people buying them are going to get cheap with the interiors.

With the amount you save with these Tuff sheds, you can focus those extra funds on making the interior as nice as you want. It’s a home now, and it’s best to make it feel like one as much as you can.
These sheds are absolutely cool, figuratively, and literally.
With radiant barrier sheathing lining the roof, it keeps 97% of radiant heat from entering the shed. An absolute life-saver in the summertime when the sun is really unforgiving.
A group of 4 or more people might be a tight squeeze in there, so these Tuff Shed homes might be better suited to 1-3 residents. Although if all 4 of you aren’t the type to need too much space, then no one’s stopping you!
Still, a shed with an interior like these isn’t a bad place to live in. If by the end of it all, you’re still not totally sold on permanently living in one, you can always settle in one temporarily while saving up for the place you want. Or, get one as a vacation home too!

The best person to decide what’s best for you is also you!
Nonetheless, a Tuff-shed home looks a whole lot nicer than some tight apartment room. It might not be for everyone, but it might just be the answer that some people were looking for.
