Who knew that you could actually build a woodland cabin using plastic wrap.

Now I know you have a lot of questions but this is one of those, “I don’t have a choice but I need shelter” type of scenarios.

Which we do hope never happens to anyone. But it’s still a skill worth learning.

Should you find yourself carrying a big roll of plastic wrap, lost in the woods somewhere, or facing some dystopian scenario then start sawing and cutting pieces of wood around you.

He builds the main frame of the house, including a makeshift bed and whatever else he needs inside.

The main pillars are thick trunks of trees. Then he secures the joints using thick cords.

It will be hard to find those in the woods so maybe get to know where the nearest seller is.

Here’s a little story from a viewer. He says,

“I lived in a shelter like this for a year on Vancouver island when I was a teenager. One morning when I woke I had the feeling I was being watched. I opened my eyes to see there were seven deer surrounding me watching me as I slept. One of the sweetest memories of my life.”

Well let’s hope you only find animals watching you should you sleep in your own plastic wrapped cabin.

You can lay out the flooring and whatever else you need according to your own design.

Just be sure that the pillars, roof, and wrap are secure and stable to avoid unwanted accidents.

He makes small square shaped holes to create “windows” since it is plastic and the heat will be unbearable.

Storing and preparing food is entirely up to you.

The walls are thicker which means he wrapped around the trunks twice or thrice.

You will want strong, thick walls in the middle of nowhere. Anything can happen.

Carbon monoxide poisoning is also a threat so make sure there is enough airflow.

Plastic wrap does not agree with fire and smoke. Braving the wild requires a lot of planning and research all while trying to pack light. It’s not easy but learning to survive is always worth it.
