They’re creepy and crawly and give us the heebie-jeebies. They can reduce even the bravest of us to tears even though we are thousands of times larger than they are.

If you live in a wooded area, spiders can totally overrun your home— both indoors and outdoors.

Though they are most visible in the summer and winter, they are lurking about as early as spring. We spot them dangling above our heads and hanging from the ceiling when we are at our most vulnerable points, like in the bathroom or bedroom. Or we see them completely covering our windows with webs from the outside.

I hate to use chemicals to kill these guys, but having them in my home and blocking my views from the window is where I draw the line. Thankfully, there are natural remedies for getting rid of spiders.

Here are 15 ways to get rid of spiders naturally:

1) Vacuum, Dust, and Clean

Spiders and lots of insects like to hang out in your home where they find dust and food crumbs so one way to get rid of these guys is to clean and dust as often as possible.

6) Citrus Peels

Spiders are put off by citrus smells so you can use their peels to keep them at bay. Cut the peel into quarter-inch chunks and place them in a pot and pour one cup of boiling water over them and let it soak overnight. Then strain out the chunks and mix the leftover liquid with a quarter cup of witch hazel. Shake well in a spray bottle and spray in areas where you want to get rid of spiders.
