A circle of seven inseparable friends in China took this universal yearning to heart and hatched an ingenious plan to ensure they’d be together forever.
They purchased a dilapidated, forsaken building and turned it into a palatial residence.
The friendship began two decades ago when they met at work.
Over the years, they shared laughter, tears, and countless memories.
Initially, the idea of retiring together was tossed around half-jokingly.
But the joke soon turned into a concrete plan when they discovered an abandoned building situated on their dream property.
At first sight, the building looked like something straight out of a horror movie.
But these women took a leap of faith, bought the property, and rolled up their sleeves to start the transformation.
Located in Guangzhou, the building was considered an eyesore by locals, allowing the friends to snag it for a bargain.
After pouring in sweat, love, and hard work, they finally completed their dream mansion.
The total cost? $580,000 USD, which breaks down to just $82,000 per friend for a slice of this paradise.

The mansion boasts floor-to-ceiling windows, expansive communal spaces, a tea pavilion, and a grand dining room where everyone can gather for meals.
Each friend has their own private bedroom and has committed to mastering a particular skill—be it cooking, herbal medicine, or something else—to contribute to their communal life.
Although the women are currently in their late 30s and busy raising families, they don’t plan on moving in full-time for another 15 to 20 years.
In the meantime, the mansion will serve as the backdrop for countless weekends and celebrations.
“We’re all independent individuals but we can communicate and rely on each other at the same time,” said Jin Du, one of the friends.
The mansion itself is a sprawling 7,535-square-feet and is nestled in a serene, picturesque village, offering the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
But that’s not all.
The mansion also features a massive open-concept kitchen and, and a swimming pool!
The three-story home offers panoramic views of rice paddies and lush landscapes, setting the stage for a tranquil retirement.
“We’ll cook, have barbecues in the fields, sing and collect food from the village,” they envision.
With this extraordinary plan, they’ve secured a worry-free future where they can age gracefully together.
