Recently, a TikTok video showed a house that undoubtedly stood out from the crowd.
Tik Tok user, eli.korn, posted a video of a very… interesting-like home that is currently on sale at Zillow.
The home is currently listed as “sold” for $260,000 on the website.
Although the house has sold, it’s worth taking a peek. Really, before you turn away from the listing, take a look at some of its photos.
The house is known as Deerfield’s famous “Pie House.” Deerfield is located in Illinois and is located about 30 miles north of Chicago.
Deerfield is a well-to-do suburb that is often listed among some of the wealthiest and highest earning places in Illinois and the Midwest, according to Wikipedia.
In fact, it’s per capita income is listed at $68,101.
Their median household income is $143,729.
After knowing these facts, maybe the listing will make a little more sense.
If not, just take a look at its description.
The house boasts a pretty impressive one.
It’s over 1,600 square feet and includes a finished basement!
Believe it or not but Chicago has gotten its fair share of tornadoes so this might not be a bad thing.
Of course we’re not hoping. It’s just always best to be prepared!
Anywho, the description also lists that the house has one bedroom with another in the basement and 2 1/2 bathrooms. In addition, it states that there is also a good source of natural light throughout the house.
Not to mention that the house has an open floor plan.
For those who are new to housing terms, an open floor plan is where two or more common rooms are joined together to form a larger space.
Usually the rooms include the kitchen, living room, and dining room.
While this concept has often been desired in the past, since the rise of home shows and networks, they seem to be as popular as ever.
Still, the home is unique for reasons that you probably didn’t see coming. The house is just about as skinny as skinny can be on a house.
It’s nearly flat. But when looking inside this incredible home, you won’t believe how spacious and beautiful it looks.
However, its name, “pie house,” comes from the fact that it is shaped very much like a pie slice — one end of the house is wider than the other.
It’s just 3 feet wide on one end of the home.
But the real estate broker, Alan Berlow, writes that the home would be perfect for a “first time home owner” or an “empty nester looking to downsize.”
