Nestled in the heart of Hocking Hills, Ohio is The Nest.
Couple Aimee and Andrew were the minds behind this lovely tiny house. But don’t let the size fool you. The Nest actually boasts a variety of amenities and features that can put a five-star hotel booking to shame.
The idea is to build a house ideal for couples who just want to be away from the hustle and bustle and connect to nature through hikes around Hocking Hills.
The property has around 525 feet of living space.
It also has a deck and a large yard. The deck has sun loungers and a tiipii bed for those who want to just lay outdoors and listen to the birds and trees.
You can also spend an intimate night in their hot tub and keep warm under the stars with their fire pit. The deck also has enough space for those who want to do yoga and calisthenics.
The floor plan is divided into two main areas.
Most tiny houses support a box-type design for an open floor plan. The Nest is quite different, however. The main doorway and foyer cut the house in two.
The living area, kitchen, and dining area are in one place, then the main bathroom, laundry area, and the only bedroom are on the other side.
The house also has double-height ceilings to make the place look larger than it seems.
The glass windows and sliding doors to the deck let in a ton of natural light even when it’s raining outside.
The interior also plays around three primary colors – black, white, and brown with the browns coming from natural materials like wood and leather.
The owners also wanted to make sure that guests would have a comfortable stay.
The Nest has a king-sized bed, quite unheard of for tiny house builds. It also has a bathtub so you know the bathroom is spacious.
The living room has a gas fireplace and an oversized couch where you can spend the night chatting and listening to music.
The kitchen has a stove, oven, refrigerator freezer, and other smaller kitchen appliances that can help you whip up any dish you like. For those who plan on staying long-term, they also have a washing machine and a dryer.
