For many of us, pain relief comes in the form of medication such as Motrin, Advil, and Tylenol. We often take these medications when experience headaches, joint pain, muscle aches, and more. While these medications are effective, they are not a long-term solution. They only relieve the pain temporarily.

Taking ibuprofen-based medication consistently can have long-term side effects. This includes, but is not limited to, symptoms such as hypertension (high blood pressure), gastrointestinal bleeding, increased risk of heart attack, and potential kidney cancer.

Fortunately, there are all natural alternatives to ibuprofen. One such alternative is turmeric.

Turmeric is a spice typically used in Asian food. It’s used in curry as well as mustard, butter, and cheeses. It’s derived from the turmeric root plant, which is well-known for its healing properties. Turmeric contains a compound known as curcumin which is proven to decrease inflammation.
