There’s nothing worse than driving in your car and not being able to clearly see out the windshield because of dirt, streaks, and fingerprints.

The outside of our car windshield is fairly easy to clean — you can pull up to any gas station and give it a good scrub. But it’s the inside of the windshield that can be a bit trickier; thankfully — YouTuber, Chris Fix, has you covered.

Passengers placing their feet up on the dash, pointing out directions, normal dust, and streaks. All of these things can leave the inside of our car windshield covered in an oily film that is particularly noticeable at night. It’s extremely distracting and can even be dangerous.

ChrisFix has a solution for your dirty, grimy windshield that only takes three simple steps. All you’ll need is a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (or rubbing alcohol), a microfiber towel, and some glass cleaner.

If it’s not fingerprints or toe prints, there can be other oily streaks and oily film on the windshield. What is that? As it turns out, the film mostly comes from the gas that emanates from the plastics in the interior of your car. Many dashboards are made from materials like vinyl or plastic, both of which contain oils. When these materials get hot, the oils evaporate and cling to your windshield.

If you’re keen on using things like ArmorAll on your dashboard, this too can cause the product to evaporate and end up on the inside of your windshield. Smoking in your car can also leave a nasty film. All of these things can cause a streaky windshield with impaired visibility.

Before cleaning the inside of your windshield — prep by cleaning the outside. This way, you’ll be able to easily see the inside streaks.

Now that the outside of your windshield is spotless and sparkling, follow these three simple steps for an equally clean inside.

1. Use a clean, dry, microfiber cloth to wipe down and clean the entire interior windshield.

2. Next, use a wet Magic Eraser or rubbing alcohol on a microfiber cloth to de-grease the windshield glass. Use circular motions.

Wipe any excess water from the Magic Eraser off your dash with a paper towel. Make sure to dry your windshield with a microfiber cloth before moving onto the next step.

3.Finally, use a microfiber towel and some glass cleaner for a crystal clear windshield.
