There are lots of things you can do even with a little bit of space.

All you need is a little creativity and DIY elbow grease.

And maybe some design know-how.

If you are short on the latter, no worries!

There are plenty of Instagram DIYers where you can get inspiration, and even instructions from.

You’d be incredibly surprised to learn how you can totally transform a space with a few inexpensive DIY ideas.

Tara Ward’s Instagram fans say that she created pure magic with a design that has the illusion of making the space much larger, in addition to being absolutely gorgeous.

“This is just a testament to the fact that it’s not what you have, it’s what you do with what you have. Fabulous,” wrote one of her followers.

It always seems impossible, until it’s done ✨

Her tiny garden chill spot makeover ended up going viral and was picked up by media outlets like The Sun.

That’s because you would never ever guess that the space she started with is the same space that she ended with.

“Don’t be afraid to start all over again, you may like your new story better,” she wrote on Instagram.

The area she started in was a tiny fenced-in space abutting her home.

Inside the dark-colored fence was a sad-looking table chair and some grass that was mostly brown.

It appears as though she tore down the old fencing and replaced it with a grey one that had horizontal and vertical pieces of wood to elongate the space.

The fence was adorned with a beautiful garland of artificial flowers and fairy lights from the Range.

This gives the area both light and a whimsical garden feel.

Underneath the garland is a floral wreath with a silver heart center which hangs above two chairs.

Egg chairs have been really popular since people were stuck at home and doing some redecorating during quarantine.

Tara used two grey ones in her space that she got on sale at Dunelm.

They are also adorned with floral garland to compliment the flowers hanging behind them. Grey, white, and blue cushions, as well as a thick cozy knit blanket, sit on top of the chairs.

Since there was no bringing that grass back, Tara placed some concrete slabs over the grass to create easy DIY flooring.

She threw a modern outdoor rug from Amazon with a geometric print over the concrete slabs for a homey indoor feel.

She used the rug’s pattern and back wall of the fence as a focal point to make the space look longer.

The rest of this space is filled with potted plants of different sizes and large candles inside either vases or tall candelabras. This also serves as a way to create height and dimension in the space.

The height and length tricks combined make the space look a lot larger than it did before.

“Add value wherever you go,” Tara captioned her photo.

Tara’s followers were extremely impressed to say the least.

“How beautiful! I just want to curl up there with a glass of red,” said one.

“What a lovely place to be,” said another.
