It can be exciting; it can also be tedious. We go around and shop for gifts, but thanks to online shopping, we don’t have to go through that stress too much.

That doesn’t mean that there’s no more stress to giving gifts.

Yes, we’re talking about gift wrapping.

Consider yourself lucky if this is one skill you’re good at. Can you imagine how many people (yes, including me) struggle each time we need to wrap a gift?

Sometimes, the last resort is buying a paper bag instead.

But today is your lucky day.

Thanks to social media, especially TikTok, we can find a lot of life hacks that make life much easier. Yes, that includes gift-wrapping.

This TikTok user showed us how to wrap a gift like a genius.

No extra paper cutting required.

Well, you still have to cut the wrap into a square that can fit the item you’re about to wrap.

Also, note that the content creator is wrapping an iPhone box in the video, so this might work best with regular-shaped items.

First, center the gift.

Fold the lower portion upward.

This will cover at least half of the item.

Fold the lower side inward to the side of the item.

Make sure that you press neatly and tightly. Fold it at the edges, covering half of the box’s side, then fold the remaining paper outward. Do the same to the other side.

Fold upper flaps toward the front.

The flaps will overlap, but don’t worry about that because they should be. If there’s any excess wrapper, simply fold it inward to the side. The next step will cover that.

Fold lower flaps inward to front.

This will cover any imperfections at the side and will overlap in front. But this gives it a classy design upfront, don’t you think?

Flip and fold excess paper at top end.

Wrap all the excess paper inward at the top of the box. This will cover the item entirely. Then, you can tape the top to keep the wrapper in place.

There you have it! A well-wrapped gift.

You can do this for items with boxes or those shaped like a square or rectangle. If you like, you can practice this technique with used paper and smaller boxes.

You’ll get the hang of it.

It may not be the all-around solution to our wrapping problems, but at least we have one.

You can also place irregular-shaped items (like rounded or custom-shaped ones) in an empty and used box so you can do this technique.
