Gardening is both fun and overwhelming.
One would have to tend to some of their plants daily, as some need to be cared for more compared to others.
The hard part is keeping track of which plants crave your TLC and which ones hate it. And that’s just the start of it.
That’s why it’s nice to have the pros.
Sometimes, DIY projects may become expensive because of the trial and error you’ll be exercising.
But asking for help from people who know this would save you money. And time. And a whole lot of potential heartache, too.
This is what Carrie Underwood did to make sure her greenhouse is appropriately setup.
She invited 2 seasoned gardeners to her greenhouse.
She contacted one of the most popular gardeners on Youtube to help with the preparations of her Greenhouse from their home in Nashville, Tennessee.
Since 2018, Carrie has been into gardening. She also has her own chicken coop and an orchard with a variety of plants.
Aside from that, she’s also into preserving her harvest and baking.
It was a pleasure for Kevin and Jacques to be visiting Carrie’s place and help build the greenhouse.
With 16 feet by 28 feet of area, they would need to utilize the space for maximum efficiency.
The greenhouse is more of a setup for growing into the winter or protecting the plants during summer. The height of the roof is also considerable.
There’s work to be done.
The beds need set up properly, for one, so they started unpacking the materials for the raised garden beds.
While doing so, Carrie shared her experience gardening and harvesting with Kevin and Jacques.
Carrie doesn’t want to buy her produce.
Her goal is to be in touch with where her food comes from and how it’s grown. She doesn’t want to buy produce at the store anymore.
She’ll grow it in her yard instead.
“I think you’re there, scale-wise,” Kevin said, acknowledging her.
As the beds are laid out, Kevin explains how the plants will be placed. High beds are placed to the mid-side with low, L-shaped beds at both ends.
To the other side will be the three circular beds.
Soil is then added to the beds, which took them a while to fill in. Especially the large ones.
With that, Day One was done.
Day two was the planting phase.
On the second day in the greenhouse, they started potting citrus. But before repotting the plant, they had to create a citrus-mix potting soil ideal for it to grow.
And then they started to unpack the berries from the boxes. These berries were already pruned and ready to re-pot.
Since they got strawberries as well, those were the first ones to be planted on the beds.
Each sprout was laid out about 6 inches next to each other. This way, they have room to grow.
Root crops were sown from seed.
While working on the plants, they also set up the potting bench, and Carrie was taught about seed starting.
They set up the seed starter trays and placed her herb seeds.
When everything was laid out, Carrie was happy about it. The beds were properly placed. The plants were repotted and the seeds were in the starter trays.
The best part was that she had guidance from the experts who not only helped build the epic greenhouse but also provided tips for her gardening adventure.
There is a whole lot to be learned for gardeners of any experience level in this video.
It’s jam-packed with tips and tricks that have been hard-won by Kevin and Jacques, and are worthy of adding to the memory bank.
See these gardeners fill Carrie’s empty greenhouse with an incredible in the video below!
