Nick and Steve Tidball are the creators and designers of this gorgeous, bright blue floating home on the River Thames, and they say that they were inspired by fairytale whimsy. One glimpse at the home’s magical exterior, and it’s easy to see the fairy-tale inspiration.
Although the home is floating on the Thames, you’d never know it by looking at it from this angle. The colorful home features a huge front yard, complete with a lawn and shrubbery.
Open the bright red door and step into the equally vivid yellow living space.
Tall ceilings and simple interior design make the space feel spacious, airy, and full of natural light. A small seating area is in the center of the room, while a kitchen sits in the rear of the home.
The kitchen boasts a large farmhouse sink, plus, drawers and cabinets for storage. It’s also home to the steering wheel.
Although there isn’t a stove or oven, a portable two-burner range could easily be used for cooking, then stored away when not in use. A mini-fridge could also be added to store perishables.
One of the home’s two bedrooms is nicknamed the ‘Turquoise Room.’
Despite the room’s nickname, it features seafoam colored walls, stark white linens, and an incredible view out to the River Thames. Imagine drifting downstream with views of Big Ben and the Parliament building. It’s the stuff that dreams are made of!
The second bedroom dubbed the ‘Blue Room,’ just screams relaxation with its baby blue walls and sheer white curtains.
Natural light illuminates the bedroom and its stark white linens through the large windows. The furnishings and decor of the home were kept simple and minimalistic. The real star is the home itself.
The gorgeous floating home boasts a fully-functioning bathroom.
The pair of brothers who designed the home added a full-size walk-in shower, toilet, and sink with circular mirror.
The front yard of the home is by far the most impressive feature of this charming home.
It even has a birdhouse, a dog house, and lots of space for the pup to run around. It’s hard to believe that you’re not on solid land.
There is no doubt that you’d be the envy of London while floating down the river in this enchanting home.
