One husband just raised the bar for the ultimate spousal Christmas gift.

Ok fellas, one chap across the pond has really gone over and above to make his wife feel special this holiday season.

You may want to take some notes and grab your toolkit because his creative and fun idea is what gift-giving is all about.

It helps that he’s handy.

He wanted to find a way to thank his wife, and we think he succeeded. Benjamin Anthony Hewins didn’t want to get just any gift for his wife this Christmas.

He wanted something truly special that would let her know how much he appreciates all the little things she does. Sigh…

He decided to build her a giant advent calendar so that she would have a gift to open each day till Christmas.

This is not a joke.

A true one-of-a-kind gift.

After he realized that no one had done anything like this before, Benjamin decided he would take a chance and come up with a design himself.

The advent calendar slowly took shape.

Benjamin wanted to build a 7 ft. tall advent calendar out of scrap wood from the hardware store.

Since he didn’t have a plan or design to go off of, he just went for it. He cut 25 holes that would soon hold gifts for his beloved wife.

Each opening got its own little door.

We can pretty much guess that this advent calendar will be a family favorite for years to come.

It’s beyond cute and a perfect way to cherish family each and every day of the holiday season.

His wife actually inspired the idea.

Benjamin had received a very special gift from his wife one Christmas that really stuck with him. She had hidden a gift inside a drawer every day till Christmas.

This meant a lot to him and he wanted to do something just as thoughtful and creative.

Can it be any cuter?! Yes.

It’s about to get ridiculously adorable.

Benjamin took photos of his progress along the way and each new element brought it to another level.

The advent calendar of our dreams.

At this point, you may be staring at your microscopic chocolate advent calendar thinking, “next year I’m going big.”

We don’t blame you…this DIY advent calendar is next level.

In one of the photos posted to Facebook, Benjamin shows a gift he has hidden behind one of the little doors. The whole thing is a little bit of whimsy and a whole lot of brilliance.

Benjamin’s wife is so surprised by her husband’s gift and can’t contain her emotion. It’s obvious that this 7 ft. advent calendar took a lot of time, effort, and love.

She is a very lucky lady!

It’s official. This guy has won Christmas.

Christmas is the season for making others feel loved and appreciated. One way of doing that is constructing a 7 ft. advent calendar!

If you can’t get around to it, any gift from the heart will do just fine.
