The way towels are folded in hotels and other establishments like spas and saunas shows us that there is, in fact, a better way to store them.
It appears the key is to roll them instead. Fascinating, right?

Here’s how to roll towels the “5-star hotel way.”

Thankfully, the steps are very few. And it does start with a fold.
Step 1: Grab a towel and spread it out horizontally on a flat surface.
Make sure you are using a surface with no bumps or graved designs.
Step 2: On either side, grab the lower tip/end and fold it diagonally upward until it reaches the top lining of the towel.
Tip: the first fold should create a triangular shape on one side of the towel.
Step 3: Next, grab the two tips at the bottom lining of the towel and fold it upward.
Make sure to press the towel firmly after finishing each step.
Step 4: Carefully flip the towel over.
Make sure before performing this step that you are pinching the towel on any folds so that flipping it is not going to ruin or misplace any of the steps performed above.
Again, press the towel firmly after doing this step.
Step 5: Roll the flat (non-pointed) side inward to the other side.
Step 6: Neatly tuck the tip of the towel into the end somewhere to form a roll.
