People dream of having a tranquil, relaxing place for romantic getaways or family vacations. A home that washes away all the stresses of the world as soon as you step foot inside. That’s exactly what the designers of the Spruce Point Cottage had in mind.

The Spruce Point Cottage in Booth Bay Harbor, Maine offers views that you thought only existed in movies.

Whitten Architects designed the beautiful cottage, but it wasn’t without its setbacks. The original home on the property violated zoning laws and was far too close to the water. After moving the house back from the shore, the architects went to work on redesigning the lakeside cottage.

The final result is absolutely stunning. Let’s start the tour of the whimsical Spruce Point Cottage.

Who doesn’t dream of waking up to beautiful water views?

From outside, the cottage looks small and unassuming. Don’t let that fool you.

Snuggling up with a book, a blanket, and some hot chocolate seems like the perfect scenario for this living room.

The upstairs bedroom is just as magnificent. Giant folding glass doors open the room to the fresh lake air to watch the boats sail past.
