One thing that makes every makeup lover cringe is the site of broken powdered makeup. Shattered eyeshadows, highlighters, and blushes can get messy, with their iridescent particles crumbling everywhere.

Not only that, but these products are pricey, and the last thing we want is our hard-earned money going to waste.

But don’t reach for the trash can just yet. You can easily repurpose these shimmering, unicorn-like colors to create a sparkling Smashed Pigment Manicure.

This simple and speedy DIY will save your glistening pigments, while also giving your nails a bold, new look.

Start off with Crushed Pigment (eyeshadow, highlighter, etc.) and a Clear Topcoat

Shake Polish thoroughly to ensure Pigment has been mixed, then paint as usual

For lighter, more transparent hues, add less crushed pigment to the clear topcoat. If you’re looking to achieve deeper, more saturated hues, add greater pigment to the polish.
