Fortune cookies are a simple sugar cookie on the outside, but inside, they contain a hidden treasure. A fortune. Much like these unassuming treats, this tiny home is named ‘Fortune Cookie’ because the exterior is just the shell to its magnificent interior.
Zyl Vardos is a tiny house company based out of Olympia, Washington. They create some of the most whimsical, rustic, and beautiful homes on the market. Including the ‘Fortune Cookie.’
The uniquely shaped mobile tiny home comes in either an 18′ or 22′ foot model. Zyl Vardos prides this design on being extremely weather resistant and perfect for hot, cold and harsh climates.
Zyl Vardos says that the interesting architectural shape was inspired by a mixture of gothic cathedrals and A-frame cottages.
The entire exterior is wrapped with beautiful cedar shingles. Everything about this dewdrop-shaped masterpiece is handmade — including the windows and a beautiful arch-shaped doorway.
Stepping inside, the living space feels bright and airy with the natural birch walls. The ‘fortune cookie’ shaped architecture provides ceilings that are high enough for a sleeping loft.
A stripped down version of the home provides a better look into the kitchen, dining area, and entrance to the bathroom. The sleeping loft above has a beautifully crafted diamond-shaped window, and the kitchen contains a two-burner range, sink, and compact fridge — perfect for cooking small meals.
Looking the opposite direction from the kitchen is the living room with an incredible handmade ‘Moon window.’
Each panel of the window opens separately to let in as much or as little air as you’d like.
The living space is fully customizable and can be arranged to seat multiple guests comfortably. This particular owner managed to squeeze in a work desk in the small space.
Through the small door past the kitchen, you’ll find the bathroom. The small but functional space features a composting toiled and stainless enclosed shower.
Underneath the loft ladder is extra storage for kitchen goods, as well as a handmade armoire closet.
Since the house is customizable, buyer’s can opt for a large skylight in the sleeping loft. Perfect for stargazing.
