The Unique Cob Cottage is a gem of a find on Airbnb. Located on Mayne Island in British Columbia, the fairy-tale home is situated on a large plot of land. Also located on the property are gardens, sea views, forests, farmland, and even a vineyard.
Guests can enjoy time away from the hustle and bustle of the big city and get away to this quiet, green, romantic cottage. There are two sheep, Opal, and Onyx, on the property, as well as stores, galleries, and spas less than a half hour away.
The home is made of completely natural, local, and sustainable materials. The cottage blends perfectly into its natural surroundings.
Step inside the earthy home to be greeted by a warm wood stove and beautiful wood ceilings.
A gorgeous floating staircase is the main focal point of the living area.
The kitchen’s shape flows like water with an arched and wavy design. Large windows peer out to the green forests surrounding the home.
Although many appliances like dishwasher and oven aren’t luxuries in this home, the two-burner stove is perfect for cooking small meals. Bright windows overlook the small dining area.
Located just around the corner from the staircase, is the eco-friendly bathroom.
The natural materials really stand out in this particular room; even the shower carries the theme throughout.
Making your way up the one-of-a-kind staircase, you’ll find yourself in the rustic bedroom with a workspace.

When the cottage first opened to the public a few years ago, initial visitors weren’t too keen on leaving reviews in fear that too many people would flock to this special retreat.
“I’m actually not very sure if I want to leave a review since I’m being very greedy about this place and prefer not to let anyone know about how amazing, beautiful, peaceful and special this place is so I can be able to book it for myself anytime I want!” one reviewer said.
There’s no way a cottage this special would stay secret for long. In fact, it’s been named Canada’s “most wished-for” Airbnb of 2017.
