As tiny homes become much more popular due to rising real estate costs and their perceived flexibility, some share the concepts they have in mind so that others can build their dream tiny homes easier.
Designing a tiny house is difficult as you need to fit in all the necessary pieces of appliances and trim down which ones you can afford to leave out. Jasper Tran shared a build he sketched up to show how he can utilize a 23-square-meter house.
First off, the living area.
When you step inside, you can already see that it isn’t as constricting. Thanks to the thoughtfully placed windows, the small space becomes much more inviting due to the amount of natural light.
The living area has a space enough for a small couch which gives you an alternate place to relax, unwind, socialize, or pursue hobbies.
Next, the kitchen and dining area.
As the heart of any home, this tiny house’s kitchen shows off some cleverly integrated features. One of the first things you’ll easily notice is how it can easily fit a refrigerator.
It also has enough counter space for a sink and a stove, making this area practical but without compromising style.
This space-efficient design also leaves room for a four-person dining area. This can also substitute as a working area and a preparation area whenever you cook.
One of the things that people look for in a floor plan like this is a toilet.
Some people tend to think that tiny houses usually take out the bathroom first or put the room in an entirely separate area.
This design, however, features a bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower cubicle. The bathroom is obviously a tight squeeze with the entire width just ending a little bit greater than the toilet’s wall depth. It may require a bit of shimmying to get to the showers but the design still works.
Another necessary feature is the bedroom.
A full-sized bed is nestled right in the loft area. It can be accessed by stairs but if you want to save space, you can switch to a narrower and steeper set of stairs or a ladder.
It also has space for low dressers or drawers where you can keep your clothing and extra sheets. The house also has a space for a wood stove for heating if you decide to build this house in a place with colder climates.
People loved the concept of this house.
“This is such a great tiny house! It’s genius how the space was used! I absolutely love, love, this house!” said one commenter.
“Super cute. Would like to see closed risers with built-in cabinets under the stairs. It would be an easy upgrade.” Said another while adding her suggestions.
“This is beautiful!” said another, “I love how it’s laid out and designed. It doesn’t feel cramped in it’s just beautiful.”
Others also thought of including this plan in their future builds such as yard sheds or mountain cottages.
Watch this tiny house plan and see if it’s something you’d like to live in.
