We spend most of our times at home, so it’s important that we keep our homes smelling fresh and clean as often as possible. While this may be a never-ending challenging to many of us – especially those of us with kids – it doesn’t have to be as hard as it has been.
There are a variety of nifty tips and tricks that we can do to freshen up our home without the use of chemicals or hiring a cleaner.
Don’t Use Febreze. Use A Natural Scent Instead!
Natural scents are cost-efficient and pure. Here are a few ways to incorporate them in your own home.

Newspaper Deodorant
Newspapers are great at absorbing odors, so take advantage of them. Instead of tossing them, place them at the bottom of your trash can. Not only will it keep your trash can from stinking up your home, but it will also catch any leaky liquids.
Mmm,Vanilla
Bake 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract for one hour at 300 degrees. Then, open the oven and your house will smell amazing.
Scented Air
Next time you change your air filter, add a few drops of essential oil to the new filter. Then, when the air blows, the essential oil scent will flow throughout the home as well.
Vinegar
Vinegar is a quick way to deodorize a room. Just pour some in a bowl and let it sit.
Your Dryer Smells Great, So Your Home Should Too
Dryer sheets make our clothes smell amazing, so they should help our homes as well. Remove an air vent, and then attach a dryer sheet over the opening. Put the air vent back into place over the sheet, and your entire home will smell like your dryer sheets.
Oats
Oats are a natural absorber, and they can soak up the unwanted smell in the fridge. Baking soda works here, too!
Cotton Balls
Place a few drops of essential oil in a cotton ball, and then place them around your home. This is perfect for the couch!
Lemon Smell
Freeze lemons in vinegar using an ice cube. Then, place one inside the garbage disposal and run it. It will freshen up your garbage disposal!
Leftover Candles For The Car
Place a leftover candle in the car to freshen up the car. It can fit right in the cupholder!
Clothespin For Deodorizing
Add essential oils to a clothespin and attach it to the vent of your car to freshen up your car.
Shower In Paradise
Hang eucalyptus leaves from your shower to keep your shower smelling nice and fresh. There are also health benefits to doing this!
Smell Good On The Go
Add dryer sheets to your luggage to ensure your clothes smell fresh.
One Pot Deodorizer
