Jamie McKay always admired the log cabins that his dad built in Jackson Hole, Wyoming when he was a kid. When he became an adult, he wanted to carry the torch of his father, while also bringing cabin construction into the modern era.
Jamie created The Wedge; an incredible, 400-sq-ft, transportable cabin that has more features than many traditional homes.
Jamie McKay went on to become the CEO of WheelHaus and has created many tiny homes since; however, it’s The Wedge that has remained his pride and joy to this day. After touring the home, it will be easy to see why.
The Wedge features a gorgeous sloping roofline and the rustic siding was built from reclaimed Wyoming snow fencing.
The home features an outdoor deck underneath the structure’s permanent awning; accessed by The Wedge’s large sliding glass doors that provide epic views out to the surrounding nature.
The Wedge is available in a few different floor plans, depending on your personal preferences. However, each model boasts impressively high ceilings with plenty of space.
“Under a timber and steel roof system and trapezoidal windows increasing in size from the back of the unit to the front, this spacious model fills with natural light while keeping privacy in mind,” the WheelHaus website says about The Wedge.
If you love to cook, The Wedge could be designed with a gourmet kitchen with full-size appliances.
This particular model has a stove with an oven, full-size refrigerator, and even a dishwasher. They’ve made sure to include plenty of cabinets and drawers for kitchen storage.
Or, if cooking isn’t your forte, you could save space in the kitchen and opt for a fireplace in the living room instead.
This smaller kitchen features a mini fridge, small dishwasher, stove top burner, and microwave. The gas fireplace is absolutely perfect for those snowy, wintery mornings and nights.
Continue down the hallway to reach the cabin’s luxurious bathroom. You’d never know you were in a log cabin while showering in this gorgeous glass shower.
“The bathroom maximizes space and efficiency with a European style glass shower, full tile in the bathroom, high-end fixtures, and a closet large enough for both an optional combo washer/dryer and a linen shelf.”
The bedrooms come in a couple different styles as well. The first, a larger space with room for a king bed and long dresser/workspace.
Or, you can opt for something smaller and bit more modern. Both rooms are sure to include an ample amount of closet space.
