20 times mechanics were so puzzled after looking inside a car that they had to snap a photo
It's amazing how people take care of their vehicles - or, more accurately, how they don't.

Mechanics see all sorts of strange things in and on people’s cars. Some folks just don’t know how to care for a vehicle and others are just…well, slobs.

Of course, there’s not much you can do about the wildlife that finds its way into your car – except maybe not treat your mechanic as Animal Control.

Want to know what we mean? Take a gander at the mind-boggling photos below:

1. A change of clothes

You’re supposed to keep your extra clothes in the trunk.

2. Roadside snack

Next time you want to barbecue some chicken, take it out of the car first. Frankly, it’s not something we thought people needed to be told.

3. What’s that rattling sound?

We think we’ve identified the problem.

But seriously, where do you get all those nickles?

4. Somewhat terrifying

Well, the customer was creative enough to come up with a temporary solution. They get credit for that.

5. Something fluffy

Cats have been known to hang out near the engine of a parked car because that spot is still warm for quite a while. This one was found in the engine bay. It took the mechanic a little while to coax him out.

6. “Oh, hello there”

Service techs have to deal with a lot, including a real fright from time to time. This is what one tech spotted when he lifted the hood.

7. A “cheep” fix

The customer thought there was something big wrong with the vehicle. It turned out that it was just three very small and round problems.

9. Opossum powered

The mechanic opened the hood to look for the reason the car was running a little differently. The moment he saw this, he put the hood back down.

10. A little too fluffy

If you don’t want your mechanic posting pictures of your latest steering wheel cover, get one that doesn’t hide the gauges, including the one that says what speed you’re going at.

11. A pair of sub-woofers

Usually, when getting into a vehicle to move it, the most mechanics will discover is that someone forgot to clear away the trash from a quick lunch. These two are way too precious to be anything like that.

12. What mechanics put up with

Customers complain about strange things all the time. The car vibrating at 130 miles per hour might be a new one, though. And while we know it’s not technically IN the car, it’s still worth an eye roll.

16. Gross

Car interiors can get a little worn and stained over time. That’s understandable. However, this car is a year old.

This vehicle was brought in because the check engine light was on. This is the problem that the mechanic discovered. Don’t ask. No one knows the answer.
