Going tiny sometimes comes with compromises.
For example, many a time, there is not enough room for everything, which leads to stuff starting to clutter around the living space.
Sometimes, due to lack of space, the bedroom that is located on the loft may require some crawling to reach, and residents need to be careful not to bang their heads when getting up in the morning.
Also, tiny homes located in a parking area, may face a lack of energy or water, so they need to be extra careful with that.
But this is not the case for Shani and Christian, a young couple in Melbourne, Victoria, who recently decided to downsize, get rid of the extra stuff they don’t really need, and start a new life closer to nature.
Shani and Christian figured that living in a tiny home in the woods would help them live a more relaxed life, as well as leave a smaller footprint.

And, indeed, over the two months they have officially been living there, they’ve never considered going back to their previous life.
The couple recently shared their story with Bryce Langston and took him on a tour around their tiny home for his popular YouTube channel.
As the couple explained, they initially hired a professional team to build the house, but they ended up doing most of the work themselves, using the help of their best friends.
The house is indeed tiny, but it has a special feature. It has a tall loft, which comes in really handy when you’re inside.
Their home couldn’t be closer to nature- in fact, in the video we can see kangaroos jumping around their house- and it’s super eco-friendly.
They have arranged an impressive solar array in their “backyard”, while they also have a 10,000-liter tank, where they collect rainwater, and a compost toilet in their bathroom.
On the outside, the tiny house is cute and its unusual geometry makes it unique.
On the inside, though, it is simply amazing.
It is obvious that the house has been built with attention to detail, and it has been designed to cater to the couple’s needs. It’s not a holiday home, but a permanent home.
The sofa and living space has been lifted a little to provide more storage space underneath, while it hides two separate desks the couple can use to work remotely. Unlike other tiny houses, here it’s possible thanks to the energy provided by the solar panels.
The kitchen is sleek and beautifully designed, and their motto seems to be if something is not in use, then it should be out of sight, out of mind.
Their bathroom is also very practical and elegant with lots of natural light, just like the rest of the house.
Upstairs is the bedroom, which also has a door to keep things private. It is very comfortable and it doesn’t require any crawling, which is perfect.
The couple loves their tiny home and they are currently enjoying every moment of their tiny living experience.
