A lot of women of all ages prefer long hair. For some, it works but for others, shorter hair is a better option. Whether due to a life-altering experience or just because they’re tired of the same old thing, some ladies are ready for an entirely new look. And as one woman proved, the decision to do something with her long locks went beyond her expectations.
Mary’s story
Mary had long hair but she wanted something different. As a dream come true, she was able to book an appointment with the famous Makeover Guy. This gentleman works magic with color and scissors, taking women from ordinary to extraordinary. Along with doing hair, he shows his customers which makeup works best for them.
Before her transformation
In her online interview, Mary looked tired and somewhat dowdy. While she was still a beautiful lady, you could sense that she desperately wanted to enhance her appearance. At her age, she made the bold move to do something dramatic.
A hairstyle to match her personality
The first thing you notice when listening to Mary is that she has a bubbly personality. When sharing that she was 58, she told the interviewer that “she didn’t feel a day over 57.” Unfortunately, her current look didn’t match her personality in the least bit.
Breaking old habits
Mary went on to explain that she wanted a hairstyle that was appropriate for her age. She also shared that instead of wearing her long hair down, she puts it up in a bun before going to work. Every day, she wears her hair the same way, which is rather boring and certainly not suited for her.
She had some ideas
By wearing her hair up, Mary realized that she kind of liked the look of shorter hair. And she didn’t mind bangs but didn’t want them too heavy. After saying what she liked and didn’t like, Christopher Hopkins, aka the Makeover Guy, got to work.
Working his magic
Along with Mary’s ideas, Christopher had a few of his own. Spending several hours with her, she was finally ready for the big reveal. As she returns to the interview, everyone is stunned. She’s almost unrecognizable.
Simply gorgeous
Her new short cut combined with sweeping bangs changed her appearance completely. And with perfect makeup, she turned into one hot tamale. Now, when people ask her age, instead of replying that she doesn’t feel a day over 57, she can lower that number to 47.
A younger version
Seriously, with the makeover, Mary appears several years younger. She’s a better version of the old her. Hopkins didn’t change her hair color much and in fact, he left a little bit of gray on the sides, which in her case, is extremely complimentary.
Alternative styles
As part of her makeover, Christopher and his highly-trained staff showed Mary different ways she could style her hair. So, she wasn’t stuck with just one look. With a few modifications, she could make herself look more casual or go full glam.
Her family’s thoughts
When she left home, her family told her not to come back with short hair. Although they hadn’t seen her at the time of her reveal, there’s no question they’ll be glad they were wrong. Mary still has her bigger-than-life personality but now, a hairstyle to match.
