Go ahead and look up concrete stepping stones. The price can go up to more than $40.

Who wouldn’t want to save all that money? Exactly! So, grab a $10 Walmart rug (pick out the one with the pattern you like the most) and some concrete. Now, the mold in the video is square-shaped, and the doormat is a rectangle.

You need to measure a square in the middle of the rug and cut it out. Put it inside the frame (we’ll talk about making the frame a bit later), mix the concrete, and pour it all over the doormat mold. Make sure to keep everything nice and tight. Let the concrete dry.

Once everything is dry and firm, separate the rug from the stepping stone.

Separation is quite effortless, and the outcome is surprisingly beautiful. After you de-attach the rubber doormat from the concrete, be careful separating the frame as well.

You want to keep the frame intact so that you can use it again and make as many stepping stones as you wish. Now, put the stepping stones wherever you want to and watch your garden path transform into a sophisticated walkway.

Moving back to the wooden frame, here is how you make one.

Take a wooden board, and cut it into four equal pieces. Connect those pieces to create a square. After that, cut out a rigid bottom of the frame, and attach it to the square.

That’s it, you’re done. The process might be a bit more difficult if you don’t have the proper equipment for cutting. In that case, ask for help, or ask someone to cut out the wooden pieces for you. Keep in mind that you can reuse the frame over and over again.

Don’t stop after the video stops. You can always make additional upgrades.

How about using some tint to color the cement? You can also pour the colored acrylic over the top to enhance the pattern.

Try adding fill-in with resin so that you can walk barefoot on them. The possibilities are endless. Let your imagination loose and play around. You’ll be amazed by the results every step of the way.
